About Me

I am a lifetime New Yorker who loves to teach and be outside. As a host, I can offer a great deal of knowledge and an array of experiences in and around NYC. As a guest I think I am as respectful as they come. If there are things you enjoy doing where you live, I would love to see what it's all about! I'm comfortable spending as much or as little time together as you see fit, I'm just excited to meet new people and see more of the world.

"It seems to me that people often equate intelligence with seriousness, and stupidity with playfulness. These people also tend to overvalue a sort of stoic distance and lack of excitement and enthusiasm as somehow being a sign of wisdom and advanced thinking. An austere and somber attitude doesn't make someone smarter or more intellectual." -Andrew WK

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I love meeting people, especially those who have different experiences than I do. I want to learn new things and get to know individuals who might be willing to share their ideas and experiences with me. In my travels, I have met amazing human beings. I hope that I can provide a truly unique and valuable experience as both as a host and as a guest.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

The following happened in one day in Killarney, Ireland:

Climbed the tallest mountain (Carrauntoohil) on the green isle with a 59-year old Australian I met the night before- despite numerous warnings about the inherent dangers of the peak. After a 14-mile, 9-hour hike, we returned to the hostel to immediately head to a huge biergarten to watch Germany win the world cup with 13 screaming German girls. I fought off a pickpocket and headed to the club with the crew that seemed to grow with every hour. At 3AM, I tried to help a girl who had fallen down and scraped her knees. The guy who had been following her was not a fan of this, and tried to start a fight- when I turned the corner of the alley to escape the situation to my hostel, he was close behind. I sprinted and my sneaker flew off. He came around the bend as I ran back and grabbed my shoe- and I blasted through the door (and bouncer) of the hostel on my way in as I attempted to explain myself.

Likely the most eventful day of my life.
