About Me

CURRENT MISSION

I want to travel the world and meet fellow lovers of the dude, football, the Poisonwood Bible, and Montell Jordan

ABOUT ME

I'm a teacher who has been living and working in NYC for the past five years. More recently I worked for the Obama campaign, but since then have been traveling around India for the last two months. I love meeting new people from all over the world and getting their perspectives. Have had nothing but wonderful experiences with couch surfing so far!

PHILOSOPHY

I believe that we all have a lot to learn from each other and if we are able to keep an open mind and work hard we can find ways to improve the problems we see around us.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I have surfed couches and when I am set up again in one place I would be interested in hosting.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I have done a ton of traveling in my life and have been fortunate enough to meet some absolutely astonishing people. I have been blown away at how diverse our knowledge basis are and how inadequate our experiences can be when taken out of our comfort zones. For instance I met a fisherman in the north of Laos who took me net fishing. I was absolutely terrible (which he got a kick out of) but he was patient with me and showed me how to do it and eventually I caught a fish. I spent two days with him and saw how unprepared I would be to live his life. Great experience of being humbled by context.

Countries I’ve Visited

Belize, Cambodia, Canada, Colombia, Ecuador, Guatemala, Honduras, India, Laos, Lebanon, Mexico, Panama, Singapore, Syrian Arab Republic, United States, Viet Nam

Countries I’ve Lived In

United Kingdom, United States
