About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Step off the tread mill for a while

ABOUT ME

I am a nature tour guide. Always taking care of travelers and sharing the secrets of my region. I live at the bottom of the world on a beautiful naturally preserved island called Tasmania, so I am Australian, but a little quieter ;) Living here, you can feel like you have fallen off the map, but if do consider coming to Australia, Tasmania is something different, lots to see and not too much driving. Im still have some work to do to finish the house I am building, but I am able to welcome guests. Like most people, I like to experience as much as I can about a place, and see the good, and let the not so good go ...like water off a ducks back. I returned from South America in October 2017 after what felt like a life time of excitedly waiting.... but wow was it worth the wait !

PHILOSOPHY

Play the long game, and to know what is important and give time and energy to this precious time we all have. "Love people and use things", never the reverse!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I was in Europe for three months in mid 2014, 2015 and 2016. But in 2017 I found my way to South America. I am also looking forward to having people stay in my home in Tasmania from mid October 2017.

COUCHSURFING experience

To be more open, generous and awesome in the field of hospitality ;)

Interests

I love everything to do with the sea, and lived on boat a few years ago. The next step is to travel on a yacht.I am an environmentalist... and like to be informed and make a difference when I can. Travel is usually following a nature theme. I like to exercise but only in moderation, for me it is never about climbing the highest peak, I more happy to carry lots of food and treats for the picnic with a view.

Music, Movies, and Books

Live performances is something I really appreciate! I will travel far and wide to find a great little venue or festival. If your in Tasmania in march, join me in going the a festival called "panama". I quite like a mid week live comedy night out.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Well maybe not amazing, but I have built my own home with no previous experience. Just shear determination :)

Teach, Learn, Share

Share with light hearted fun. I have done a lot of courses, and as I get older I am realising I prefer to learn not from offical pathways, but rather from people and memorable experiences actually getting out there and having a go.
