About Me

CURRENT MISSION

What we do in life echoes forever in eternity.

ABOUT ME

(Note: Everything stated/shown here on my profile was written in 2011.)
"All" about me, oh, that's kinda hard, let's try..
I'm kinda relaxed and it's not that easy to make me upset (for I don't like being angry) and I'm always trying to sustain self-control in hectic or stressful situations (it'll be worse to make yourself uneasy about things you can't change). I'm a spontaneous person, always up for new experiences, sometimes just taking chances to see what will happen. I have some romantic ideas in my mind (sometimes conflicting with reality ;), I'm an idealist. It makes me sometimes depressed to think about how something could potentially be or become and how it actually looks like in reality. But things you can't change..
I like sharing experiences, talking to other people and to understand the way they see things.
Maybe just read my "personal philosophy" further below to understand me a little better. I'm trying to live by my views (like tolerating and respecting other people, especially from other countries) and trying to be very friendly and easy. What else.. I'm a fair-minded person, I always try to find compromisses and try to suit everybody I like. That way it's mostly more comforting to have a relaxed and funny atomsphere, and I'm trying to provide that :)!

PHILOSOPHY

Let's do some brainstorming here.
First of all: there are a few basic guidelines, which should be clear for everybody and which are so simple and basic that one shouldn't even mention them, however, even those are not fully followed by many people of this world..

- you shouldn't do things and stuff to others that you don't want happening to yourself.. show respect and tolerance towards others and let them have their own opinions and attitude of life (for nobody knows the one and only truth, because it's not existing, everything and nothing is true at the same time, which brings me to my next point:
- the purpose and reason for your life and your being is what make of your life, or in other words: The way is the goal!
- you can change your attitude and way of thinking to get along with any kind of situation (it might be hard, but it only depends on yourself how the world reacts to you)
- you can achive whatever you want and whatever you can think of, if you only really want it and really pursue anything possible to achieve your aims. it is possible to live the life you dream of, you just have to do it.
-it is important to act and to live the things you say, no one is helped by just talking about a matter. the only things that count are your actions, they tell everyone about your attitude and that you can be trusted

These are merely a few rules that one could live by,
maybe now I speak a few words about more general beliefs I sometimes have (they are changing of course and I guess this will be so for the rest of my life, I hope so, too.) Because stagnation is somehow always a kind of step back in a world that changes all the time, that means that one should always try to go on and try out other things in his/her life, maybe something totally different compared to what one has done in all of his/her life. You should always go on exploring yourself, because we humans don't have any limits. Why not changing your whole life from time to time.. talk to other people, make other decisions to create an interesting life! Make the most of it! Try to extend your way of thinking, try to widen and overcome the borders, let your mind fully develop! Learn different languages, maybe visit other countries and try to understand our amazing world! And it is amazing, we should be thankful and humble that we were blessed with our lives! Death is nothing wrong, it's just part of nature and its cycle of life! We are solely parts of this planet and even the entire universe, we are all parts of what was once one thing, before it exploded and has been spread out and shaped our universe. Maybe we are nature's way (or god's..even though I think 'god' is just a metaphor for everything there is) of trying to figure out what is going on and what nature itself is, and in order to find that out, it created life and intelligence and all there is. Maybe our concsiousness is only a part of a greater consciousness that is formed by all living beings. We are like cells of a huge brain that tries to grasp what the hell is going on. Remember: these are just random thoughts and I guess many of them need to be further explained and developed to make sense. I kinda sense the number 23 is somehow involved in these matters as well, or what about the Bilderbergers, do they have, secretely, all the stripes in their hands and control the rest of mandkind like puppets, or even better: all we feel and perceive day by day is just not real: it's either a matrix (or even a matrix in the matrix), or even just a dream? What happens if you wake up one day and fully realize how stupid we were when we believed in all the stuff that is going on everyday. Maybe you are God himself that decided to be reborn in your body, trying to forget about himself.. by the way: I don't believe in God (at least in the way Christians do).

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I signed up a couple of days ago. But I know Couchsurfing for a long time now and I always liked the idea. A good friend of mine has been a member for years and she told me only the best things about it! That's why I decided to try it out as well :)! When I start reflecting on the topic, it comes to my mind that I used to visit a lot of people I had not seen in years. They let me stay at their place for a while and I always invited all of them to come to my place one day as well, so it seems it was kinda logical to join such a community one day. Here I am ;)! Of course, I'm offering my own couch as well, this is just fair and I'd like to be a good host, too!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

As I mentioned above, I'm new here and never used Couchsurfing before. But during my travels I got to know a lot of new people and I started to like the entire traveling mentality. I'm trying to stay in contact with those people I really liked and we always try to visit each other once in a while. Like with a friend I had met in New Zealand, I visited him twice in Brighton in the last 2 years and he always managed to offer us (a friend and me) a couch (I can even remember sleeping in a tent in the first night :p) and this year he wants to visit me and of course he can stay at my place.

Interests

- interested in all kinds of stories, written by life or merely written fiction (including movies of course)
- therefore I'm trying to get to known new people and new characters, I'm interested in other lifestyles and views of our world
- because of that I like travelling, to meet these new people and to experience new cultures, trying to find out what's different and what is similiar to what I know. I like this feeling to be in another country and to sense the magic in that ;) It's just the kind of freedom I like to have, to decide on my own where to go next and to let those trips develop an own dynamic, it's always fun to go somewhere and to just go with the flow ;)

-other interests are: just talking, music (dancing occasionally and sometimes just sitting back and trying to feel it, to move into it and to fully enjoy it), a bit of gaming, sports (football, swimming, squash), going out with friends and drinking, hitch-hiking, enjoying nature and being startled about sceneries, having adventures (that's what travelling is about), I kinda like arts!!, and yes, I like studying ;).

Music, Movies, and Books

books: I definitely love reading books!

I very much appreciate Philip K. Dick ("Valis", "Dr.Bloodmoney", "Martian Time-Slip", "Ubik", "Palmer Eldritch" and many more.. including short stories), I like his humorous and yet so frightening scenarios of the future, his characters and set of stories form a meta-universe full of freaks and crazy situations. His depictings about the American society of the 50s/60s were well handled and his stories are mostly set in a Science-Fiction scenario, which enabled him to have all the freedom he needed to share his philosophy (he is not that well known, but continues to be further recognized: the movies "A Scanner Darkly", "Blade Runner" and "Minority Report" are based on his works)

I was amazed by many of Robert Anton Wilson's works (such as the "Illuminatus!"-trilogy or the "Schroedinger's Cat"-trilogy and "Cosmic Trigger"). Just a few words about this genius: the Illuminatus!-trilogy was kind of the beginning of my passion for reading. He was the guy that made me start thinking about life, reality and our entire existence, and especially the way most people think.

I recently have become a fan of Herman Hesse, I have been profoundly touched by "Steppenwolf", "Siddhartha" and "Das Glasperlenspiel"

Any British author (Swift, Dickens, Woolf, Shelley, Huxley, Orwell, Stevenson, Doyle,..there are so many of them,.. you name them.. I read them (it's part of my studies) and a few American Authors (Foster Wallace, Fitzgerald, Hemingway, Kerouac and Poe)

A huge impact on my thinking was contributed by Carlos Castaneda (his "Art of Dreaming" is really mind-blowing!)

Albert Camus' "The Stranger" made me pondering a lot about how people may think and act

H.P. Lovecraft is another author surely to mention when it comes to my favourite authors.. read many of his stories and could well feel the horror emanating from the pure thinking about his weird phantasies.

George R.R. Martin: I love "A Song of Ice and Fire"! Especially the well developed characters and good conversations. The unexpected happenings. The irony of fate. And its most realistic depiction of how the world really is, definitely not easy and fair, and also full of grey shades instead of only black and white (or good/evil, in that respect). The author has a great heart and you can feel it while reading.

Basically: I like fiction, preferably Science-Fiction (Dick) and stories that make me think about myself and other people's way of thinking and/or behaving.. I guess I just want to find out how people function and what drives them or makes them act in they way they do.. to sum it up.. I suppose I try to find out what the hell is going on (to quote good old R.A. Wilson), if this is being achieved in a humorous and intelligent way, and maybe even not too obvious to discover and to grasp, then it's most likely I could be interested in that kind of stuff.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

One action I like to think of is my skydiving experience I had in New Zealand. What an amazing feeling! Unbelievable, I will never forget that! But when I further think about it, my whole trip to New Zealand was just awesome. It was like the start of just more! I guess I want to go on travelling the world from now on (and for the rest of my life)! There are just soo many things to see and learn about, I wonder why other people are not interested in that kind of stuff, but hey, everybody can decide on their own ;).
