About Me

We are a Spanish married couple who currently live in Stockholm.

Ignoring the fact that Fernando grew up in Venezuela, we are from the north of Spain. It is a beautiful green region, plentiful of breathtaking mountains, beaches and forests. Some people find it too cold and rainy, though.

Noelia is a graphic designer and Fernando a software engineer. In 2015 we were living in Abu Dhabi, UAE, and we sat together to think where we wanted to establish permanently. After some days we came up with the conclusion that we wanted to live in Sweden. That brought us to Stockholm in 2016.
While we lived in Abu Dhabi we started to join meetup.com groups to go out and do some outdoor activities. The latest escape before leaving the country took us to several intensive and amazing trekking/hiking/scrambling days in Jordan.

We are lucky to live in an island surrounded by nature. Lidingö is just 30 minutes by tram to the inner city, and yet offers you the feeling of a remote place. There are some great natural tracks around here. You can enjoy a lot at our place!
We also decided to start to be active in Couchsurfing, since we feel that we need something additional from our travelling experience.

We are very open minded people, willing to share experiences with others. We love to laugh, eat, walk, walk, walk, more walk, discover new places, listen to stories and learn from them.

We have a bengal cat called Dante and very soon we will add a kitten called Asimov.

We don't smoke.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

After some years together and several trips, we found out that we wanted to get a lot more from the travelling experience.

We have attended a CS meeting in Yerevan, Armenia; and received two couchsurfers at our place in Abu Dhabi. Both experiences have been very possitive so we want more. We also have more experience out of CS: Workaway, Erasmus, Meetup, Interrail.

Interests

- Travelling: On a low budget and with a backpack. walking a lot, seeing the main sights but also getting lost and discovering those details that we enjoy and others may find irrelevant. Tasting the local food, buying a magnet for our parents.

- Eating: Improving our best recipes, cooking with love, exploring healthier food, cooking for others.

- Reading and learning: Reading about technology, history, places, the situation worldwide, green life, health...

- Pets: Noelia is crazy about pets, specially cats.

- Listening to music and dancing: We may enjoy any type of music. From a classical music concert performed by a youth orchestra, going through a street bossanova band, to a Heavy Metal concert. We also like to dance lating rhythms, specially salsa.

- Yoga (Noelia) & Football (Fernando): We also have our personal, individual and private passions and interests :D .

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

CAMINO DE SANTIAGO (Way of St. James).
For those who don't know, it is the pilgrimage to Santiago de Compostela. You may choose several possible starting points. We started in Oviedo and walked through the mountains, forests and countryside during 3 weeks to reach Santiago and continue to Muxia and Fisterra (The end of the World). We met wonderful people, enjoyed the nature and scenery, and exercised a lot.
It can be a life changing experience.
