About Me

I am Noemi, a spanish chef always planning the next trip when I am in the middle of another

Just finished a whole year backpacking South America🇧🇴🇦🇷🇨🇱🇵🇪🇨🇴🇪🇨😁

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Couchsurfing changed my Life.

I met many of the most interesting and kindest people I ever seen in my Life.

I haven't been surfer for long but I went to a lot of meet ups where I found a whole world just ready to be discovered. A group of people Who don't know each other start a conversation in bar in a foreigh country with a :

- "Hi! Where are you from and what are your plans?"

And you found yourself talking for hours about traveling, languages, people...and maybe even traveling partners. I love It. No second intentions but the mutual interest to share an experience, journey or an adventure.

I have been a host a few times when my circunstances have been suitable for surfers. Unfortunately since corona I can see the community had a huge dropped of members.

Interests

Travel, travel and travel some more!! :D

Apart from that of course I like to cook but I am even better eating! Everytime I try something different, I see a new ingredient...wow you can see stars in the eyes hahaha. It doesn´t matter if it seems strange or even disgusting sometimes, you always have to try first! Otherwise...how could you know if you like it or not? :P

I hate routine...it kills me so I prefer the hard way even if is more painful. I prefer to die trying than a boring or unsatisfaying life.

I do really love to do scuba diving but I don´t always have the option. I enjoyed a lot doing in in Phillipines ^^

Other sports that I like are climbing even if not really good in rock but in climbing wall and cycling.

This last one is also a problem in a big city! After 3 years in Netherlands I can say that I really love to go to work by bike instead of any other way, yes, rain included :D

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I always eat whatever strange thing I see. The most disgusting my friend´s face is, the most I want to try it.

- I can proudly said that I ate hot pot of snake, balut in philliphines, hot spice soup of chicken claws, grilled chicken heart, worns, fried starfish...and so on :D

- My backpacker travel around east asia for 3 months by myself doing couchsurfing

- Driving a scooter in the middle of the night coming back to my hostel in Koh panghan when I don´t even know how to drive...cold sweat all over my neck..that makes you realise how alive you are :O

- Scuba diving with tresher sharks in Malapascua almost touching them. Another time a liveaboard in Similan Islands in Thailand. You wake up, you dive, breakfast, dive, little nap....dive again..Awesome!

- The santiago way from Oviedo in Spain. We decided the travel 3 days earlier. My backpack got broken the first day :D. After 10 years I decided to do it again, this time around the coast...I feel so lucky to be from such a beautiful and rich country on landscapes and gastronomy.

- Manage a kitchen full of chinese people. They didn´t speak english and I didn´t speak mandarin (Huge problem man xD)

What I Can Share with Hosts

As a surfer I can undertand that is a responsability for any host to have someone at their place. We all have our schuledules, jobs or duties.
I am not expecting from my host to be all day with me or going to do any touristic stuff if he/she doesn´t want to but to expend time together talking/cooking/ having a beer and of course having a lot of fun :D

Couchsurfing is not a "free hotel" but an exchange between cultures and people all around the world ^^

I am very easy-going and not picky at all about where to sleep but I would prefer to know in advance instead of where I am already there how it is gonna be.
Apart from that I am good at cooking and sharing histories! hahaha
