Overview
About Me
CURRENT MISSION
exploring the world & enjoying life in the Baltics
ABOUT ME
Young, positive, helpful, open, sociable. I love Saint-Petersburg, Stockholm and Riga and I'd like it if other people could love these cities too.
PHILOSOPHY
I love people
I love life
trying not to hurt
and to understand what is called differences
though I don't believe that there are any REAL differences :)
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
more than 5 years with CS so far.
I hope to help interesting people to stay at Stockhom/SPb/Riga with comfort and to enjoy everything.
I'm located in Stockholm mainly now, though occasionally I live in Riga (as often as I can) or (almost never currently) come back to my home in St. Petersburg. Crazy I am.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
several days in Paris, France; in Tallinn, Estonia; in Lithuania: in Kaunas, in Vilnius (thrice), in Klaipėda and in Šiauliai; in Poland (Warszawa); in Stockholm, Sweden (twice); in Brussels, Belgium; in Turku, Finland; in Ålesund, Norway (twice); in Georgia (Batumi and Tbilisi)
Interests
languages, literature, music, architecture, history, townscapes, francophonie, la France, Saint-Petersburg, Europe, the Baltic Region (especially Ingria, Latvia and Lithuania), strolling, urban orienteering
I like linguistics. I think it's wonderful that I like my speciality. Sometimes I take part in conferences, and it's great if you go to other cities or countries to discuss something interesting for you and other people. And of course, it's a way for seeing different places.
I take part in linguistic expeditions. I had been to Kalmykia 3 times, it's a very exotic and interesting region in the south of Russia, with sunny and warm weather and culture of the only Mongolian nation in Europe.
In 2009, I took part in another expedition, during which we had a great experience of cmmunicating with Ingrian Finnish who live in our region.
Baltistics is one more thing I adore. Latvian and Lithuanian are very good. At the moment these languages are what I'm interested in more. The culture and history of the Baltic region are of great interest for me as well.
