À propos de moi

CURRENT MISSION

seeking to expand my mind and experiences. looking to create memories that I will take with me to the grave and hope to photograph every single event.

ABOUT ME

So I'm supposed to sum up my entire being in a couple of sentences? Alrighty, here goes nothing:

I grew up in New York City my whole life and I'm ready to move on! I've always been a city boy, I went to school in the Isle of Manhattan. I've worked in a clothing store in NoHo and in Lincoln Center's long gone Tower Records.

I starting to travel on my own this summer, to East Africa and Europe. I've only been stuck in North America for my whole life.

I decided to become a filmmaker after watching Jaws when I was 5 years old. (Now I'm thinking that maybe that wasn't such a practical reason.) Picked up my first camera in Junior High and have never let it down since. You can probably catch me somewhere in the city taking photographs like one of those Asian tourists, the only difference between me and them is that I know where I'm going and they don't.

Another artistic attribute that I have is the ability to draw, kind of. I make weird comics with a friend of mine from High School and from time to time I put them up on my blog. It's an creative outlet that's cheaper to make than movies.

I made a short film and it's on Google Video, you can look it up but I won't tell you the title because the project is too embarrassing for me to be connected to.

I've recently started running as an exercise, I'm quite proud of myself. Back in college I tried to start it up but didn't have the endurance for some reason. But now that I've quit smoking and all my friends are becoming more healthier in what they eat and do, it's become an inspiration for me to do the same. I can do 3 miles a day now.

I am funny, geeky, and a thrill seeker

PHILOSOPHY

If I was on the island from Lost, hopefully I would have brought these things with me on the plane:

-My iPod Touch. Hopefully it's preloaded with some movies, but knowing my iPod it's unlikely because it's 80% music, 10% music videos and 10% apps. Plus I have Neil Gaiman's American Gods on Kindle. (I can read that book again and again, forever.)

-My glasses, I seriously can't see without them. And I like looking at stuff.

-My Nikon d70 (Digital camera), I've taken so many damn photos on that thing. I would've said my film camera, but then I won't be able to set up a dark room in an Island... then again that darn Island has a lot of things, especially in that hatch.

-And I guess if I'm going to have my digital camera, I might as well have my Macbook Pro to load and edit pictures. But then I wouldn't need my iPod... Argh! Decisions!

-My sketchbook and pen. I love to doodle and make notes from time to time. I even write up my movie ideas in it, even though I never finish them.

-If I'm going to be stuck on an Island, I might as well have my hammer/screwdriver/knife/wrench-tool thing. I don't really need it in everyday life, but in an Island I'll need it to make myself a hut and cut down fruits and whatever to survive.

Pourquoi je suis sur Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I don't live on my own yet, but once I get a place I hope to share the New York City I know to new friends. I don't mind meeting up and show you guys anyway, I can always arrange for interesting trips.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Haven't had any yet, hope to fill this out quite soon.

Centres d'intérêt

-Food: Eating.
-Making Shepherd's Pie, Mac n' Cheese and Sandwiches.
-Taking photos.
-Organizing my room, not cleaning it.
-Wandering around the city and always finding public transportation.
-Making judgements of other people.
-Setting up computers and TVs, I should be a Best Buy geek squad... then I'd actually get paid to do something useful.
-Riding bikes. (I'm about to get one soon, hurray!)
-Sneaking into movies, but then again it's not really a hard skill to learn.
