ABOUT ME

Hello world! My name is Nola. I'm 23 and I want to try couch surfing to better connect with the local community and get a different taste of new places (as opposed to hostels, air bnb, etc.)

I just finished up a degree in International Agricultural Development at UC Davis in California and am looking forward to a big trip to Europe from July to January. I just can't wait to meet amazing people and live life.

My personal philosophy is that people are good. Connecting and giving back provide the spiderweb that makes us compassionate humans. I'm a self-proclaimed extroverted introvert, meaning I love being around people and hanging out, but to truly recharge and rest I need to be alone. I love solo traveling, as I believe it gives a completely unique, more challenging but fruitful experience.

I'm on couchsurfing to meet new awesome people! I've gotten to a point in my life where I place serious value on genuine human connections. I also hope to open up my home to likeminded people someday when I get the chance!

I want to meet you, get to know who you are and what it means to live where you live. Personality can be shared over a beer or just a small interaction, yet those may end up being most memorable moments of a trip.

Interessi

In my spare time I enjoy reading, cooking/ baking (lately I've taken up vegan cooking because it's challenging and delicious!), discovering music, going to festivals, dancing barefoot, snowboarding, photography, camping, hiking, biking, all things outdoors, learning about organic farms and traveling. I am interested in learning how to raise livestock as well as grow a self sustaining garden. My latest interests have included healthy living through food and exercise, specifically plant-based eating and yoga. I am far from an expert but am eager to learn from others to find what works in the journey of treating my body optimally.

I also love going to festivals. From the music to the people, there is something revitalizing about them. I already love camping and music, so festivals sound like a great excuse to stay up dancing barefoot till 5 am and not showering for a week. Haha that sounds a little hippy, but it's so true. So far, I've been to Burning Man, Lucidity, Pitch, Outside Lands, Snowglobe, and Symbiosis. This year you can catch me at OZORA, and hopefully a few others in Europe. I feel that these festivals are good for the soul.

Una cosa incredibile che ho fatto

I scored my dream job! I work in a lab that manages Rangelands, or all the natural places where farming in not suitable. I get to go out into national forests every week and then play in a laboratory! As my first job out of college, I am forver greatful and amazed that I landed this job. It makes 'adulting' way more fun!

I would love to collaborate on cooking and baking vegan food, as well as learning what hollistic practices others have found effective in their lives to better themselves as well as those around them.

I want to learn how to surf so badly! I need a patient teacher. That goes for dancing as well.

I also love discussing books. I am just wrapping up the entire Game of Thrones series, which took me about a year and a half to read while finishing school.
