About Me

CURRENT MISSION

I'm attempting to travel throughout Chicago to get a cursory knowledge of the city while I look for work. All of the posessions I own fit in a duffel bag.

ABOUT ME

I am an ENTP. This has led me into many interesting opportunities but I am in a transitional point at the moment. I am looking to use CS to help me get on my feet in Chicago. This city can be cruel to people but I feel like I've got a fighting chance with the help of this wonderful community!

PHILOSOPHY

Above all else I believe that mankind desires POWER. We are content when we have a sense of control over our own situation or situations external to us, and we become unhappy when we loose that sense of control. It is an instinctual survival mechanism.

I believe that the economic and political landscapes we are witnessing now are mostly due to this power lust. The recession is not due to natural economic forces, but instead, human impulsivity. That is why applying traditional economic solutions is not helping. The impulsive and reckless behavior is still there.

The gridlock in Congress is due to political posing on both the Democrats' and the Republicans' parts. They are more interested in securing their position in office than in servicing their constituents. Meanwhile, special interests confuse and corrupt the decision making process.

We are slipping into the same patterns which led to the fall of Rome. Our populace is distracted by past times and material objects while our elected officials are working solely in their own self interests instead of those of the greater good. Meanwhile we have de-emphasized the importance of education in favor of aggression in our policies.

What we need is good leadership which isn't in bed with lobbyists up on Capitol Hill. We are not beyond redemption but first we have to change our values as a society. We have glorified violence in our culture and then we wonder why there is so much of it. We have mocked education and we wonder why we're falling behind on the international report card. A democratic republic relies on an educated populace in order to function and with the emergence of the Information Age it is more important now than ever to embrace our values and stand up for our rights!

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I am of sound mind and emotionally stable. I approach most of my life's decisions rationally and try to view situations objectively. I am a courteous guest and will do what I can to contribute since I can't afford financial reimbursement. I have a very honed skill set and can solve any computer-related issues you may be having. Also, I'll chip in and help get chores done to show my gratitude for your generosity.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I am new to this site but I stay at friends' and colleagues' houses on about a weekly basis, so I'm very used to travelling with my necessities. I won't typically put my host out of their way for any of my needs.
