About Me

Hello all!

I'm a freelance-writer born and raised in the city of Chicago.

I'm somewhat of a free-spirited hippie who's passionate about creativity in all its forms, love, people, and simply living life to the fullest.

My intention is to break down all barriers and live life the way it was meant to be lived; freely and authentically.

I'm ready to connect with people from all walks of life and begin my greatest adventure.

I hope you'll be apart of it. :)

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I've been on a journey of transformation for the past 4 years and traveling has played a prominent role in helping me heal, connect with people, and get to know myself in ways I never thought possible.

I'm in the midst another huge transition and I think couchsurfing would a great way to live frugally and continue doing what I love. :)

Interests

I love doing yoga (and any form of physical activity), writing, creating art (I'm no Frida Kahlo, but it relaxes me), digging around in the dirt and planting things, researching and putting to practice all things holistic, getting lost in books of all kinds, dancing (a lot of the time with myself), volunteering to worthy causes when I have the time, and expanding my horizons in unfamiliar lands.

Music, Movies, and Books

Music: I pretty much listen to everything, so I really can't say that I have a favorite. Anything that has meaningful lyrics and good vibrations is cool with me.

Movies: All things 80s, flicks about love and all that jazz, documentaries, and old black and white films.

Books: Into the Wild by Jon Kraukauer, Leaving the World by Douglas Kennedy, anything ever written by Anais Nin, You Look Like Something Blooming by India Ame'ye, Archeology of Light by Bill Wolak, and a million other books of poetry.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

~I left Chicago a year ago to move to Playas de Tijuana, Mexico. My cousin was living there, so I took the opportunity to explore some new territory and indulge in a new culture. It was one of the most enlightening, crazy, and memorable trips of my life. A piece of my heart will always be in Mexico.

~I've lost over 60lbs this past year incorporating yoga, meditation, and whole lot of dancing--all without a gym membership!

Teach, Learn, Share

-Although I don't have certification--I'm very passionate about massage therapy. I've assisted many friends and family with healing physical ailments in their muscles and joints by sharing the art of touch.

-I would love to learn how to play the guitar.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I can share my time, my energy, and everything that I've learned along the way. I don't have much in terms of material things, but I do have a wealth of wisdom gained from all the life experiences that I've had and very big heart. I hope that counts for something. :)
