About Me

CURRENT MISSION
To speak less and do MUCH more. Say it n do it or don't say it.
traveling: It's never an IF, only a WHEN, and I'll get to do it!
Let's hang in Mexico!
Currently on another workaway and nowadays, not really using CS as much, mainly because I got tired of the status quo of things (and the majority of male users who only want to host women so for me, as a straight single guy, I barely find hosts anymore).
But regardless, my goal is to do as much of Latin America on workaway. 3 places booked already, yay!!

ABOUT ME
Current travels: Latin America and first stop is Mexico!!

Finally got my own website up and running
www.nomadicfoxphoto.com have a look!
Daily travel updates on instagram

@nomadicwoof for the many Dogs I meet on my many travels
@nomadic_streetphoto for the street art I encounter

Who am I? nobody, and, everybody. An inspired soul in a crazy world, I aim to calm my mind and inspire others to find their peace of mind (& body along the way), I know that travel is my calling, and a nomadic life is pure bliss. I aim to share my connection to places and people through wonderful moments captured as images that will, hopefully leave the viewer speechless, or just evoke an emotion or stir something within.
They say a picture is worth a 1000 words. For me it's a million😃😃, or through the new friends i make along the way. I really believe you are supposed to meet the people you meet, and in that exact moment, there's a reason, even if I don't know it, it is that! call it what you will, fate, god.....
I'm always up to meeting new people and making new friends anywhere in the world! I've been really active with CS & consider myself a CS veteran. This is the only way to travel!
I traveled 3 months straight ONLY with CS through 7 countries in Europe! my hosts rock!!!! thanks for being such wonderful people!
My pictures will do much more to tell u all what kind of person I am or strive to be). Check out NomadicFox Photography on Facebook!
Or my NG photo page: http://yourshot.nationalgeographic.com/profile/10475/
plus, better to read references, they'd do more justice than me describing myself...my personality is ever-evolving and changing...
and i'm still learning...I've got the travelbug so bad I can't stay in one place 2 long, well, I guess it depends on the place:) well, let's keep it short, shall we? THE BEFORE:P
I was on a 2year work visa in Ireland, ended up in Alaska at some point and before that in the UK for a 2 year work visa, before that, living in China for a bit, before that travelled around Asia, before that lived in Australia for a year, before that lived in my van in NZ, and before that lived in the US. before that, don't matter:)

I've already lived in various countries & adapted everywhere, looking to CS & meet some cool people along my many travels!

Here's a point I've got to make: answering the question of where you're from is always tricky, because unfortunately we are susceptible to misguided stereotypes. Where I'm from has NO bearing of an iota of impact on who I am, (as Israel, or the U.S makes people roll their eyes, saying you're Canadian seems to be the best choice haha....who dislikes Canadians?), we should be asking the right questions, for example, 'what was the last movie u saw? What are u currently reading?'
And what u do is whatever saves me money to travel haha..unimportant... I live life to the fullest, I dare to dream and if I want something I aim to get it, the rest, money included are just details. Only details, money comes and goes and I'm a hard worker.
So, where am I from? Separation is misery. I'm from the world, from Planet Earth, just like YOU, I'm a Canadian/American who grew up between Israel (mainly), Canada, and USA, English and Hebrew are the languages I grew up with, and of Romanian heritage. Honestly, we're all the same, n regardless where u from, we all want most of the same things...love, affection, acknowledgement, money, growth......just live and let live, eh?
I know there are lots of opportunities out there, and I always believe things work out.

Ppl say I am very talkative & social, but the truth is, it ALL depends on the company i'm with in the moment because I'm usually pretty quiet. Comfort is essential for me, so if I get a good vibe from someone, why not? "I'll b Sonny, u b Cher, share a little, why don't u?"
& I´m fully aware I look a lot like Colin Farrell! have him call me..
I'm the kind of guy who can strike a conversation with just about anyone, couldn't care less if he/she is a total stranger, I love connecting with new people, meeting locals, might scare u at first but for me, life's too short & I've made plenty of friends this way all around the world! I'm always writing stuff down, mainly expressions in foreign languages that I learn from hosts or friends.

I travel like Rolf Potts !
You are a travel legend in the making, with a sense of adventure that will lead to hundreds of fascinating stories. Locals all over the world will give you special nicknames, and almost all of them will be complimentary.
What type of traveler are you?

PHILOSOPHY
Don't think too much, have nothing to lose, be here now!

hmm, some wisdom, well....treat people the way you want to be treated. believe what you want, as long as you don't harm or preach.
It could always b worse. whatever shit happens, & it will & does (i'm a card carrying member of the Shit -Happens-all-the-time-club), don't forget that some folks have it way worse, take things in porportions.
Live your life 4 yourself & not 4 others, never look at others' grass, do your own thing, & always, WEAR SUNSCREEN.(remember the song?)..don't worry that u don't know what u want 2do with yourself yet, that's part of the fun 2. U ALWAYS have options...shit happens? deal with it. 2mrw is another day...B honest with yourself &; others, life's 2 short 2b dishonest & nobody deserves 2b lied 2. B social, again, life 2 short 2b timid, been there....learn to relax & live in the moment, 2often we're 2 busy planning the future & dissecting the past. WHAT ABOUT NOW?
Just B. Life's a process of elimination in my book...respect your friends, respect your parents, strangers, why not?
B reliable, b there for loved ones. Keep the faith IN YOURSELF &; your wits about u, they don't always have 2 contradict one another. Know how fortunate u r. U r healthy, have friends & able to travel. Connect with nature, connect with people, even strangers. A smile goes a long way. Connections are easy to make, be open. have no qualms about going your own way, about traveling solo. Enjoy the little details. "don't talk, unless you can improve the silence". Your only limit is you.
Know that separation equals misery n unless u don't have to use the toilet, or pardon me, shit Gold, then we're all the same. Arrogance is never the answer.
The world is like this out of separation. Religion, borders, control...basically, mine's bigger than yours.....constant, pardon me, Dick-measuring!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
since the new CS profile is quite shit, here's a link to my old one,
I really miss the old page and site...

https://www.couchsurfing.com/users/2075056/profile/legacy

I.share my stories, my experience, my life, my mentality.... bring plenty of stories, music and
movie knowledge and good vibrations, have a guitar ready if u want entertainment haha!
Really connecting to people, and forming new friendships. I've got contacts worldwide, in case u are hitting the road, and I'd love to help if I can.
Surfing, joining groups, imparting knowledge, learning from experience.Meeting fellow CS & just having the best of times! I host when possible, if I stick around in one place.
Trying & hoping to surf & see new places through the eyes of locals as much as possible! singing the praises of CS to anyone who would listen! wonderful organization:) one day, once I figure out where i'm staying, I'd love to give back and host full time, but I'm on the move a lot, so until then, I'll surf n connect!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Extremely experienced...3 months 7 countries only with CS and amazing hosts😃 been hosted close to 100 times. Even if I dont have all 100 references...got tired of chasing hosts for them...
This is The BEST way to travel! So fortunate to know about it, it has changed the way I travel, and has been wonderful, thanks to my many hosts, who have become friends in no time at all!
I've been hosted in (to name a few) Spain, Italy, Bulgaria, Hungary, Belgium, Luxemburg, Germany, Russia, Ukraine. also through other organizations in the past, or even, by chance meetings....no complaints, it's been great!
I'm all about making a connection with people, just letting your guard down and chilling out, with real conversations and the time just does its thing and flies away while you're having a great time with new people who become your friends! That's how u live in the now.
I'm not looking for just a place to stay or a tour guide, we're all busy people, I'm used to traveling and being on my own, therefore, if you have the time, I value it, as I wouldn't like my hosts to change their plans just for me.

Interests

Music works everywhere & anytime.
Bookworm & movie & TV fanatic (u name it, think I've seen it), Traveling (duh), Tai Chi, Yoga, Working out, Driving long distances, Learning Languages (cool ones), meeting ppl, chillin' with good company...playing guitar here & there, being the resident weirdest guy, learning about & from people.

Teach, Learn, Share

ALWAYS take your valuables with u, so u have to carry more? big deal, better safe than sorry later (got my van broken into twice in NZ for starters)....no matter where u r, make sure you're comfortable...sanity is BETTER than salary....if u have the peace of mind with a job, money will b made eventually.
Don't be cheap as a traveler, if there's something u really want to do, just DO IT. life's 2short 2b cheap.
B honest. With yourself. With others. Life's too short to be a dishonest jerk. you get what you give, and I enjoy giving. Couchsurf all the time😃
B reliable, b there for people who might need u. Surround yourself with people u love. Enjoy the moment.
Take the time 2 go for a walk in your city, get to know your surroundings &ALWAYS, ALWAYS CARRY A CAMERA!
Open your eyes. Your mind. Don't judge or criticize others....whatever works for them, is not for u to judge.
I can share plenty of valuable info about countries I've been to (&there're lots of them.). Teach English, Yoga, Tai chi, crazy phrases in many languages, fun time &; pleasant conversation.....:)

What I Can Share with Hosts

Well, experience, travel-wise and life experience (tho, I'm still young)
outlook on life, honesty (my only policy) and directness.
I've got a great and original gift for my hosts, which I won't reveal (worth meeting me then haha), I share moments of clarity, stories, I can teach you Yoga, Tai Chi, massage, music (if you got a guitar, u might get a free concert haha) photography tips, wisdom, and many many travel tips, history, religious tidbits, if you're into that, recipes for drinks and cocktails, various expressions in various languages, hebrew....the rest if for you to discover...
A place isn't great for its own, but rather for the people I meet in it!!!
I don't share politics, yes, I grew up in Israel, but don't get into politics, I have the right to choose to not care haha

Also, i've got to share this, and to be blunt..if you're a guy, before I write you, if I see that all your references are from women, I won't even bother...it's rather frustrating to write someone knowing they probably won't host you because you're of the wrong sex.
Guys, just write preferred gender to host 'female' and save me and a lot of other travelers looking for a host, a LOT OF TIME.
thanks for reading all this
