About Me

CURRENT MISSION

I am setting off on a mission. My goal is simple, live life in the moment, constantly learn, face doubt and fears, discover perspectives, meet others with the same vision, creating what I want in life, and connect with the world.

ABOUT ME

I get super excited everyday about ideas of new ways to live my life. I love change and love the feeling of being scared to do something and getting to overcome the doubt. I like being very open by wearing my feelings on my sleeve. My favorite thing to do is pick apart my thoughts and discover some deeper meaning to my psychology and what motivates me to do the things I do. I don't really like fitting in, because I feel you tend to follow trends when you’re looking for the approval of a group. I enjoy when people question the way I am, because I know that this is how I want to live in my heart. I think following the deep voice of the self is the best way to be happy in the world. I'm following that voice in January when I'll be starting in Israel on a year trek around the world, and I'm excited to start living like a true traveler.

PHILOSOPHY

I think the most important thing in life is not what we are looking for, but the fact that we are actually looking for something. I think whenever someone goes on a quest to learn more about themselves, be it through a spirituality seeking round the world journey or learning something new that you enjoy, that is how you experience what life is about. Because as human, once we get what we think we desire, we usually get bored with it. By constantly discovering new things and adding to the world and your life, you will thank yourself when you look back on your experiences. I think the best way to create an ideal outer world it to create your ideal inside. When you realize everything you need is already apart of you, you'll start to experience it in your reality.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I've been hosting people like a mad man. It's truely been amazing, I feel like my apartment has turned into a hostel and I love it. I can't wait to go off and surf, after experiencing the joy of making my guests travels more authentic in Chicago. One time, I actually slept on my own couch to get the perspective of my surfers.

I've been to a few coachsurfing events in Chicago, a great house party and a back alley dodge ball game, probably two of the best times this summer so far.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

It's only been a few months and we've hosted many different groups, ranging from solo travelers in for a few nights to groups of people surfing for weeks. It's been as good as traveling, and I will certainly be hosting until my couch breaks! To date, the most interesting couchsurfing experiences have been throwing a CS party were a bunch of random CSer's showed up from all over the world, and I got to show the 3 surfers staying with me a great time. Another great experience was with a surfer on an urban exploration journey around the states, who took us to the top of a crane that was positioned on the roof of a 40 floor skyscraper, unveiling a magnificent view of Chicagos' midnight glow.

Interests

At the moment, I'm living for Salsa, the Law of Attraction and manifesting my dreams, learning Spanish, learning more about Latin America, gearing up for my bike trip through the Middle East and Asia, cooking with locally sources ingredients, developing a location independant lifestyle, finding ways around overconsumption and becoming more conscious of daily choices, connecting with spirituality, forging for treats in Chicago, finding new foodie gems throughout the city, and trying to find cool experiences locally (Vision Quests, Sweat lodges). All these activities made possible due to a $20 street purchased bike!! I love Chicago.
