About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Hoping to visit at least 100 countries this lifetime!

ABOUT ME

I am a Philippine-raised Australian resident , an ex-pescetarian, mouse potato, Joni Mitchell fan, retired partyphile, spoon collector, and a tree hugger. I got a perpetual hunger for adventure and I love the feeling of being lost, except when running late for a bus!

Music, Movies, and Books

I can watch any movie once, but here are some flicks I've played over and over:

Fight Club, Trainspotting, Jesus Christ Superstar, Shawshank Redemption, Lord of The Rings, Seven, Kill Bill, Y Tu Mama Tambien, Dazed and Confused, Motorcycle Diaries, The Beach, Into The Wild, The Royal Tenenbaums, Almost Famous

I listen to a diverse range of music, but here are the artists included in my Ipod On-The-Go list when I take a 12-hour bus ride:

Joni Mitchell, The Beatles, Velvet Underground and Nico, The Police, Nina Simone, Carole King, Bob Marley, Motley Crew, Kings Of Convenience, Jack Johnson, Stevie Ray Vaughn, KT Tunstall, 311, Sublime, Dave Matthews Band, Death Cab for Cutie, Arctic Monkeys

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

We did a shoestring budget trip to Cambodia. We stayed in the cheapest guesthouses, bought market food... it was inevitable for us not to hire a tuk tuk to visit the temples. We walked a gruelling thirteen kilometers: from Angkor Wat to Ta Prohm, to Baphuon and all the way to Bayon.

Along the way, we passed by a school. A giddy bunch of Khmer kids were waving and greeting "hello!". One kid chased after us and gave us a paper torn from a notebook. It was a Buddha drawing. She said in perfect English, "I give this to you for free".

I almost cried, the death march was worth it.
