About Me

I am a 27 years old male living in Amherst in Western Massachusetts. I am pursuing my PhD on Fulbright, a cultural exchange scholarship, at University of Massachusetts Amherst. Being a cultural exchange student, I love talking to people, share my culture, and learn about beautiful nuances of different cultures around the world. Lastly, my friends find me honest, punctual, clean, friendly, and trustworthy.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I am a travel loving cultural exchange student and what can be a better way than couchsurfing to meet new people, share life experiences, and create new memories to share with the next person I am going to meet on my next travel.

Music, Movies, and Books

My favorite movies include the godfather, lord of the rings, batman triology, dead poets society, the perks of being a wallflower, and shawshank redemption among many more.
I have loved reading the brothers karamazov, the tipping point, a man's search for meaning, and the long walk to freedom. I am currently reading thinking fast and slow, and the forty rules of love.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I spent one magical night on the side of Lake Saiful Muluk in northern areas of Pakistan when the moon was in full sight. The local folklore tells the story of a Persian prince Saiful Malook who fell in love with a fairy princess named Princess Badri-ul-Jamala at the lake. It talks about the fairy princess appearing on the lake in full moon. Although I did not get to see the princess, the experience was nothing short of that.

Teach, Learn, Share

I grew up in a small town in rural Pakistan, where I experienced the true mystic asian culture. I find my people simple and honest, and have a lot to share about the life of common people from my part of the world. Also, my research is related to smart homes, smart grid, and renewable energy and some of my hosts may find my knowledge useful.
