About Me

When I was younger I traveled a lot with my parents, getting to see far-flung corners of the world.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I've used CS to find places to stay and people to meet up with while traveling for a few years now, but have only recently started hosting. Every time I got back from a trip I'd tell myself how great CS'ing was, and that I should start hosting soon, but kind of kept putting it off.

Well, now the ball is rolling and I've been hosting about once a month since I started in the spring of 2014, and it's been great.

I often offer to host people from the last minute/emergency groups, partly because I don't like to make plans to host more than a week or two in advance. How am I supposed to know what I'll be up to in a month?!

Interests

I like reading, and watching movies. My taste in movies is probably a tad serious, but even the most awful movie can be fun if you watch it with the right people :)
I love cooking (and eating!), but hate having to do the dishes afterwards.

I enjoy playing boardgames - a great social activity - and sometimes go to a gaming meetup that's held regularly on tuesdays. If you want to try and go too, drop me a line.

Music, Movies, and Books

I am very into books, mostly English literature, and I can get completely absorbed. If I ever happen to be reading something new while riding the bus or train, I can usually measure how good it it is by how much it messes up my trip (Luis Borges: missed 3 bus stops, P.G. Woodehouse: got on the wrong subway line and rode too far. Twice!).

What I Can Share with Hosts

A walk around the city, letting you know bits and bobs about its history and such, if I'm not too busy. A nice cup of tea. A beer or bottle of wine. A proof that square root two is irrational.
