-----Updating my profile after more than a DECADE in CouchSurfing-----

I feel old.

How do we start?
Ok, my CS involvement was an extended volunteering from HospitalityClub (HC). Its a hospitality exchange community BEFORE CS which most of their volunteers (at that time) decided to build CS.
Yes, kids, you heard me... there was something like CS before CS exist. And yeah.. we were the ole folks that were here before you are.
So there we were, helping the CS Founder to expand this network of hospitality with (at that time was new) platform.

I have both my leg with HC and CS for the Indonesian regions at that time.

For Couchsurfing Indonesian itself, at the time i was a member, was barely 60 existed and 90% of them did not open their profile for at least 6 months. We did (somehow) pulling, advertising, campaigning etc CS throughout many channels (even HC itself - which was almost dying anyway)

I was the first Asian ambassador for CS that attend the world CS Ambassador meeting in Vienna when I met Cassey (yes, the FENTON, yes the famous hippy pants designer, yes the founder of CS)...
First, because China was blocking CS website, second profiles of CS indias had a bad reputation and the only biggest numbers of Asian CS at that time was Indonesia...especially with progress form hundreds to thousands new members within less than five years.
Little people know, thanks to the mass communication campaign strategies from all those Indonesian Ambassadors and volunteers had that we passionately put down to the tables. (there's something you always can use when you go to school, kids..get that degree)
Heck, we were the first community invited to @America the First Cultural Center of U.S.A in the world which were first established in Jakarta Indonesia. That is you INDONESIAN! be proud of it

I have met, both, CS and HC founder, sat with them, drinking my beer and smokes my cigarette (Casey doesn't smoke and drink btw,, kinda lame for me but good on him) and discuss about hospitality exchange politics and philosophy... they wont remember that, but i do.
...............................................................
Till, those news came. And I wasn't proud to be one of the 20s something worldwide cs ambassador that Casey himself called through Skype discussing the idea of "migrating (selling)" CS to a corporate.

As well as the other thousands of ambassadors (volunteers) which been standing by for CS since its first data crash and when no one even hears this community before...we were devastated.

and there you go...since then... I left this profile here, untouched.

Nevertheless, I found good friends which now become more like families, husbands which now become ex and my kids now also travels using CS (and other channels too) in between my life as first Country Ambassador for CS Indonesia...
I wrote by traveling book, invited to promote CS on national Televisions, (almost) regularry asked to do radio talk about traveling and got my profile listed in one of the special yearly edition of famous Indonesian woman magazine..
Those wouldn't happen without my passions, soul, effort, FREE WORKING HOURS I contribute to CS... the money spent, the sweat and oh that food everywhere in the world.

I wish we can have the real spirit of CS..Im still hoping that is why this profile still here.

Give me hope.

Hello fellow travelers
I love networking and hosting is one of the ways.
Home without people roaming around is just not homey enough for me.

I'm a momma, live full time with my 3 girls. I was born in a Hosting family. We always have sort of tradition to have ân 'open house'.

My grandfather was spices trader who always let his relatives (and the relativeâ's relatives ^_^) from the village come and stay at his place.

My Father spent almost his entire life as a sailor looking for oil, he keep sending whoever he meets on his way to our house. There, the ex-guest sent their kids, nephews, nieces to travel again to our house and they become my HOSTING part.

Because I'm not a spices trader like my grandpa, nor a sailor like my dad; Tho, I do some traveling for my own favor but I couldn't meet many different people along my trip as much as my father and grandpa'

Most of the time i travels it was My work forced me into assignments. Even with it, I can not called it as traveling because you don't meet people but hotel servants then colleagues in work place, as far you go, was nearby market and airport! I worked in a long time periods as Project Controller in telecom industries by building some computer application programming.

But, that's the best thing when the history wheel turn...
From behind the screen while im cheating my working time, By internet, through its HOSPITALITY EXCHANGES sites, it solves my way to run the family tradition of visiting host and receiving guests.
