CURRENT MISSION
A big adventure!
ABOUT ME
Hello! Well, where to begin? I love to travel and I’ve been fortunate enough to have seen quite a bit of the world already. I caught the bug young. I grew up in a rural area in the south west of Scotland and am the youngest of a family of five. I’m currently at university studying Biology and admittedly I’m a bit of a nerd with all things science, I’m hoping to graduate in 2 years and then train to become a secondary school teacher. Outside of studying, at home I have a very energetic spaniel who takes me for walks in the countryside, I love reading and drawing, seeing friends, Scrabble! Being outdoors, doing practical things and most of all I love meeting new people!
PHILOSOPHY
No time like the present. It's not personal but I apply it to me

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
So far none, but I think I'm ready to change that!
Interests
I'll give anything a go really, my new years resolution of 2012 is to push myself out of my comfort zone - so far it seems to involve climbing lots of high things. My brother's always saying everyday's a schoolday and I definitely live by that philosophy - so anything that involves learning is good!

Music, Movies, and Books
All time favourite films are Garden State, Pocahontas and Les Choristes. I'd like to think I have a pretty diverse range but what it always comes down to is Disney, I will point blank refuse to watch horrors though! I've also got a wide range of music tastes, pretty much anything that isn't heavy metal or rap is good with me. I inherited a love of people like Joni Mitchell and Sting and I especially love acoustic. Books . . Memoirs of a Geisha, The Help, Daphne du Maurier and I've read some of the classics, I'm very much still working on my book collection.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Ahh, there are a few
-Hot air ballooning
-Abseiling down a 140ft building for charity (I'm terrified of heights)
-Sailing course in Ireland
-Climbing hills, from Ben Nevis in Scotland to Table Mountain in Cape Town
-Kayaking on the coast of Australia
-Seeing mummy and baby bear cross the road near Yosemite National Park
-Sleeping under the stars in Maine because we forgot the tent poles!
-Climbing the Cross on the hill of Parc Mont Royale, Montreal
-Skiing for the first time with all the international students in Montreal, I don't think I've laughed so hard in my life
-Heading down to a Scottish beach with a lot of blankets a cold night to watch the comets
-Having a class in a teepee (Indigenous Contemporary Music)
-Working on a Kids Summer Camp in Maine
-Swimming in the sea in a thunderstorm in Cannes, France
-Seeing a caesarian section in South Africa
-Swimming with dolphins in NZ
Teach, Learn, Share
If you can't touch your toes, bend over and try, then immediately stand back up straight, turn around 3 times on the spot and immediately reach down to try and touch your toes again. Hope this helps you get a little further!
