About Me

In general, I am a fairly calm and quiet person with a deep interest in human emotion/behaviour. In reality, I guess it all depends on the situation and the people I am with. I can be shy, introverted and quiet but I can also be highly sociable, extravert and talkative. Most of the time, It's a healthy mixture between the two with a tendency to be more open and sociable while travelling. But don't worry, I can enjoy talking about literally anything!

I Graduated from The Royal Academy of Art in The Hague after and during which I started a Research Collective with a current focus on context, formats and exhibition design/curatorship. We also host a regular cinema event that brings together content, setting and visitor: see https://wysiwygcinema.net/

I am currently doing a big solo backpacking trip through Canada and will most likely keep travelling until the end of 2018.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I have stayed with people and families for months on end through Workaway/Wwooffing and it has been such a humbling and amazing experience. Surfing seemed like a similar kind of thing but on a short term basis so here I am! I've found that exploring a town, city or place becomes a much richer experience when staying with people that live there and I very much like the philosophy behind providing a free space for people who are travelling around. It's also a great way to meet nice and open minded people.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Arguably it's not very "amazing" but I've sat at a table doing absolutely nothing for 14 hours straight.
I also do my best to watch a movie every day on average, which I suppose could also be seen as rather sad...

What I Can Share with Hosts

If you are curious about Veganism, I am more than willing to answer any questions you might have. I'm not militant or judgemental so there is ample room for open conversations. I've been vegan for over three years so I have done my share of research and contemplating my stance on the subject, whether it's cooking, nutrition, health, ethics or environment. Or we could not mention it at all...
