Overview
About Me
Hi people,
I'm Noortje, a 19-year-old student from Amsterdam. I'm an outgoing person, who likes to not sit around too much and try new things. Currently, I'm in a Liberal Arts and Sciences bachelor, which means you can basically choose your own courses, and is perfect for someone who has no clue what to do in life (like me). I have a main focus on Physics, Logic and Chemistry.
Animals can always make me happy, whether it's going to the petting zoo as the only grown up there, or just enjoying time with someone's dog. And my room is full of plants. I might be living in a big city, but I like to have a mini jungle in my own home. And I enjoy being with friends and good food.
Travel is one of the best things in life. This doesn't need to be far, but just getting out of your everyday life changes the way you experience the world around you. This is why I especially love to combine my travels with photography. Also, travelling gives you the opportunity to meet new people, new cultures, different worldviews and this is truly valuable to not get stuck in your own environment and mindset.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I figured to give this a shot since I heard so many good stories about it and would love to try it for myself! I think it gives the opportunity to experience a city through the eyes of a local, and to get in touch with people you normally wouldn't.

Music, Movies, and Books
This is definitely too hard to choose... For movies and books, I like a broad range of genres, as long as it's not too scary, I can be very picky even though I don't fully understand my own criteria. For music I just can't choose, but why would I? There is just too much good music in this world.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Lived in South-Africa for a few months, training horses and helping a local community getting more sustainable and self-sufficient.
What I Can Share with Hosts
Hopefully, I can cook (vegetarian) food for you and just share conversations and experiences!
