About Me

A wanderer at heart who loves to travel, learn and experience different cultures. Having lived in three different countries while growing up, I've always been interested in meeting new people, seeing new places, understanding society and learning a different way of life.

After taking an adventure of studying abroad for a year in California, it has only made me want to discover more of the world.

Now that there's light at the end of the pandemic tunnel, I'm keen to host, hang out and meet people from different cultures. Let's bring back the CS community that we once know. :)

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

One of the best highlights at university was being able to go on student exchanges, and the best experiences I’ve had were through knowing the locals. However as I have now finished my studies, there unfortunately hasn't been as much opportunity to travel and interact with people from all over the world. A few friends have suggested couchsurfing and I thought I'd give it a go! What better way to travel and make friends along the way. :)

Music, Movies, and Books

I love music. I’ve played the piano for about 18 years. I'm more classically inclined but I enjoy and appreciate all forms of music (except hardcore metal). Some of my favourite musicians are Ludovico Einaudi, Yiruma, Kevin Kern and Jon Schmidt.

As an active and outdoor person, I generally don't watch as much movies/tv so my knowledge in this area is quite (extremely) limited. However my partner is absolutely into anime and have opened my eyes to Studio Ghibli as well as many other meaningful films!

I used to always read in my spare time, but not so much now that my job requires me to read and analyse hundreds of pages repeatedly. My favourite books range from the fantasy fiction such as the Harry Potter series and the Dark Heavens series by Kylie Chan, to detective/mystery novels by Dan Brown.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Influence national policy in early childhood education

Teach, Learn, Share

I love learning languages. I am fluent in a few languages and I’m more than happy to exchange learning/teaching languages or music.
I enjoy cooking for people and sharing recipes from home.

What I Can Share with Hosts

Good company, my funny travel stories, meaningful conversations, language exchange, my favourite photography locations and recommended things to do in Canberra (and the various cities I’ve lived in), a day of exploration/adventure, the food I cook, invitation to my country :)
