About Me

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Because cheaper travel means longer travel.

I like to get by on very little in terms of money. I'm critical of work as a society phenomena and a "must do". By spending less money in life we free up our time. That's why I love getting around by hitchhiking, sleeping on couches and sometimes eating from dumpsters, and I like to help make that possible for other people.

The other reason is that your trip becomes so much more worthwhile when you meet new people that share local knowledge, tell stories and what not. Nobody remembers all hotels they ever stayed in, but everyone remembers a good couch.

Music, Movies, and Books

My favorite band of all times is Sigur rós, other than that I listen to a little here and a little there.
I’m not a big fan of movies because I cant seem to sit still for so long. If I ever watch a movie its usually to learn something, my favorite genres are documentaries and historical movies.
I love reading, I mostly read classic Swedish literature and philosophy or other non-fiction. Again, if I ever read anything I want to learn something!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

In the summer of 2019 me and my husband walked the John Muir Trail in California from Yosemite to Mount Whitney. A hike of 344 kilometers. One night we had a black bear try to eat our food when we were sleeping, and we met so many amazing people on trail.

Teach, Learn, Share

I love learning new things! I would like to learn history about the places i visit, and I'm very interested in traditional handicraft techniques and how to make use of natural materials. I can share my knowledge about Scandinavian traditional crafts and history.
I can make you a home cooked vegetarian meal and teach you how to dumpster dive, canoe, ski, sew, hitchhike or make soap from scratch.

What I Can Share with Hosts

My time and friendship, a discussion and a home cooked vegetarian meal. I love to hear about your adventures or share mine.
