Chi sono

Hey! I live in a small two bedroom house in Stonehouse with my older sister Eileen (also on CS) and my cat Rufus. I have lived in England most of my life but both of my parents and therefore my whole family are Dutch so I think of myself as partly Dutch.
At the moment I am working to save money to travel. I am hoping to go to India in the next 18 months or so. I am also hoping to travel around Europe next summer.
I have recently returned from travelling around the USA and Canada for 3 and a half months with my best friend. We couchsurfed quite a bit there and I loved every second of it! Everybody we stayed with was so generous and welcoming, it inspired me to host and give others the chance to experience travelling like I did.

I am a very open, laid back, easygoing and friendly person. I am an observer, so I'm quiet at first, but I do love a good long chat!
I grew up on a farm in South-West England. I'm a creative person. I love listening to and playing music and eating and/or cooking food!

I want to explore the rest of the world and push myself to experience and learn new things. I love my family and friends. People and community are so important. Always treat others how you would want to be treated.

Perché sono iscritto su Couchsurfing

I think that people are so important, and we are losing sight of the most important things in our lives; community, love, family, conversation and art being just a few of them. Couchsurfing is one of many ways to keep those things alive.
Couchsurfing is a great way to learn about the area you are staying in from people who actually live there and know where the best places are to go and so on!

Interessi

I love music, books, the outdoors, walking, cycling, riding, animals, people, food, art, conversation and meeting new people from around the world and learning about their culture and country!
My aim for the future is to learn more languages and live in different countries.
I want to spend my travels learning and experiencing new things and writing. I love writing poetry, stories and music. I also love doing art and singing and playing the guitar, although I am not very good at those things, I believe if it makes you happy; do it.
I used to have a horse and ride a lot, but I couldn't afford it anymore. I'd love to share my knowledge and love of animals with you.

Musica, film e libri

I like a bit of almost all genres!
I love lots of old music like motown, rock'n'roll, country, folk, jazz and classical. A bit of everything! I hate that question 'what is your favorite book/film/music' because I don't have favorites- I love so many different kinds and genres, it's so difficult to decide!
I love comedic films like the old Pink Panthers, Woody Allen and the Coen Brothers. I love documentaries, especially Werner Herzog and Louis Theroux. I like watching new stuff and lots of different genres, I don't like judging a book by its cover, I'll give anything a shot.
My guilty pleasures are Gossip Girl and Friends!
As far as books go, I love real life stories and biographies/autobiographies. I also am just getting into Margaret Atwood. My aim is to start reading more about philosophy, history and politics because those things really interest me.

Una cosa incredibile che ho fatto

Hiking the Grand Canyon for 3 days... There are no words that can describe what that was like!

Insegna, impara, condividi

I would love to chat with you over some good food and drink and learn about your culture, family and friends. I am always looking to learn more and hear people's opinions and thoughts on everything.
I offer you my home, my garden and, if I have time, my cooking. In return I ask for a smile, respect and an open heart.
I can share with you my love for music, film, food and the outdoors.
I used to have a horse and ride a lot, but I couldn't afford it anymore. I'd love to share my knowledge and love of animals with you.

If you are here for anything Steiner-related; I grew up on a farm in a camphill community and went to a Steiner school. My parents live in Switzerland and my dad runs the estate and farm of the Goetheanum. I'm no expert, but I'm happy to discuss anthroposophy and Rudolf Steiner and tell you about my childhood and upbringing/education.

Cosa posso offrire ai padroni di casa

I have a good sense of humour and I love to have a good time and a laugh, but also have conversations and share views on things.
I hope that we can have a great chat and share our interests as friends and equals. I will always treat your home the same as I would my own - with respect and care. I am clean, tidy and organised. I look forward to learning about your life experiences and what you know about the area you live in!
