Overview
About Me
Imagine, if you will, that Ireland is a teddy bar. The teddy bear is poised with its back to Great Britain & its arms outstretched to America. Northern Ireland is its head. You see its bum? Well that's where I'm from. Wexford: the arse of the teddy bear!
I'm a friendly, easy-going, chatty person who likes meeting interesting people from different places.
PHILOSOPHY
Jeder muss für sich selbst entscheiden, wie er mit seinem Leben umgeht und was ihm dabei gut tut.
And one from Einstein that probably fits in with that "Everybody is a genius. But if you judge a fish by its ability to climb a tree, it will live its whole life believing that it is stupid."
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I go to Couchsurfing meetings as often as I can. I prefer smaller meetings to the big ones, as it's easier to have a decent conversation!
I have been to many more meetings than I have surfed or hosted. But hopefully the opportunity to surf/host more will arise soon!
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
Since joining Couchsurfers in 2008, it has created a great sense of community for me in all the cities I've lived in. Sometimes it's easy to feel isolated somewhere new & CS has always been a place to meet up with like-minded individuals, regardless of what else is going on in one's life!
I've met so many interesting people that I would have never met otherwise & it has given me lots to think & talk about!
Interests
Trying to figure out what it's all about & what makes me tick.
Apart from that, the usual: cycling, music, art, people, languages & singing at the top of my lungs when no one else is at home!

Music, Movies, and Books
Music is very important to me, although it is restricted to a passive interest i.e. listening, rather than making it, as I unfortunately lack any talent on that front.
I love reading a good book, whenever I can get my hands on one, but don't seem to come across them all too easily - so all & any recommendations much appreciated!
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Learning to cycle aged 19!!! My parents are entirely to blame that I didn't learn earlier, but it's such a pleasure to have picked it up eventually! I guess it also taught me that if you persevere, when all you want to do is give up & stick your head in the sand, you will reap the rewards in the end. In my daily life now, I pretty much cycle wherever I can!
Teach, Learn, Share
I think everyone has something to learn from other people, so by definition I must have something to teach others?!
What I Can Share with Hosts
I don't have any special talents, but can cook a meal for a host, bring a nice bottle of wine, and have a chat!
