About Me
Hello, I am Norbert or you can also call me Norbi.
I work as a Director of Photography in short films, music and corporate videos in Budapest and London.
Hope I can travel even more because of my job, but in my free time I also like to travel around the world.
I was raised in one of the most eastern city of Hungary, Nyíregyháza. Most of my friends were my teammates from my basketball team, where I was a relatively weak player, but I could ran fast :D
1 year before my senior high school year I met my girlfriend Tímea (or Timi) and we've traveled to a lot of countries together. After one month of dating I went to London to work as a venue cleaner on the Olympic Games. It was one of my most challenging month, because I worked 12 hours in a night-shift, 28 days straight. But it was a nice experience, because I could meet some of the most famous athletes in the world. (like LeBron James and James Harden). After the job, I was able to buy my first camera :)
Fortunately, most of my friends from Nyíregyháza also moved to Budapest for studying in every type of universities, so I can always drink some pálinka or sör with them. Always means every two weeks :D
My mother, father and younger brother live in London, so whenever it is possible, I visit them. It is one of my goals to meet people from the London filmmaking industry, so when I visit my brother I also try to go to shoots.
One of my resolutions for 2018 is to read more books.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
Timi and I would happily meet people around the world. We are both very curious about other people's stories and thoughts, and Couchsurfing is a great platform to meet people who can show you where the local people go, help you plan your trip, or even join you to drink something.
I feel like this is a way more interactive way of traveling, than just sitting in your hotel room eating food you'd eat in your home country and visit the most mainstream travelspots. In Couchsurfing you can live like the local people or just make some new friends and learn from others.
Also, this is a good opportunity to develop the language you're learning :)
