I have a family of four, two Boys ages 13 and 17. Both enjoy playing sports. We all enjoy traveling, and fun family activities. I'm a college football junkie, that's what I do with my Fall Saturday's. Once a year my boys and I go on a road trip to catch as many games in one weekend as we can before they go back to school. This last fall we went to Northwestern and Minnesota. My wife and I have been married for over nineteen years. We are starting to prepare for the empty nest, our 17 year old starts college next fall, so we'll be half way there.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

My schedule allows me to travel while my wife is teaching. In order to keep costs down it seems like a great way to meet new people. During summer the whole family travels, I don't think couchsurfing would work, but I'm always open to try something new.

Interests

As I wrote above, I love college football. I enjoy traveling. I always seem to be working on my house or some kind of project. Above all that I love hanging with my two boys, probably more than they like hanging with me:)

Music, Movies, and Books

Not a big book reader. I enjoy all kinds of music but seem to always end up listening to country. I enjoy lots of movies, recently Star Wars. Probably one of my all time favorites is Gladiator and Braveheart.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I'm not really the amazing guy. I've been around a lot of amazing moments. I've been a firefighter for over twenty years which has brought many amazing memories that have changed peoples lives. Helping a baby into the world in the back seat of a Nissan. Watching a patient that has no pulse trend from 'dead' to weak then strong vital signs in the ambulance on the way to the hospital - then walking out of the hospital on their own. Coming up on a car wreck thinking everyone involved is serious or dead, then after minutes on scene realizing people are hurt but they'll all amazingly be alright. The list goes on, you get the picture, I get to be around a lot of amazing potential moments in people's lives when I go to work.

Teach, Learn, Share

I'm a father of two boys and everyday has teaching/learning/sharing moments, same goes with my job. My department has gone through a big transition of personnel, and now I'm an 'old' guy, which puts me in the position of mentoring the younger guys.
