I am semi-retired and live a quiet life but enjoy the odd pint. I enjoy hiking, travel and photography so if you’re looking for a rave or night clubbing then I am not the host for you.
I live near to the City of Manchester on the tram route between Manchester Airport and the City centre.
I do have a busy lifestyle and I will not be able to offer couch surfing all the time so if I do not reply consider that I am not able to offer you a place to stay this time.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I was introduced to couch-surfing by my daughter who moved in with me during the university summer recess and while I have travelled a lot in my younger days and still do; I like the idea of being able to offer a weary traveller somewhere warm and safe to bed down on their journeys.

Interests

Generally I am absorbed in photography and travel so I do not find a lot of time for much else.

Music, Movies, and Books

I am not a great lover of movies but there are a few classics that spring to mind, The Pianist, Enemy at the gate, Jumping Jack Flash and Shawshank Redemption but my music taste are very varied and range from the Blues through to classical to folk, generally real music and not popular. Although I do not have time for general reading I undertake a lot of study on photography and Photoshop editing.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Being 63 years old there are many amazing things in my book:
1. Constructed my own 5 bedroom detached house.
2. I have 5 amazing daughters to be proud of.
3. Completed a university degree at the age of 50.
4. And I am sure there are other things I have achieved I feel are not worth mentioning.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I can offer a safe and welcoming place to bed down for a couple of nights with somewhere to have a wash, shower and prepare and cook a meal.

I have a comfortable sofa that one can sleep on and sofa cushions on the floor, which I have been told are very comfortable.

Although I can offer people somewhere to sleep I do not act as tour guide preferring that you explore the city by yourselves although I do have some city centre maps and tourist information of places to visit.
