Our nature is vulnerable, and we kindly ask you to act with care.

* Do not make new paths. Every new path makes more erosion, leaving the soil vulnerable for heavy rains and winter storms. We have a wide range of good kept and marked paths on this islands, please use them.

* Pick trash in the mountains! Please bring a doggybag, and pick whatever plastic you find on your hike or trip. A little goes a long way, our efforts are valuable! We have doggybags/ziplocks at home, and we are happy to provide you with a bag or two!

* Close the gates at the trail heads. We have cows and sheep grassing in the mountains, please close the gates when you pass through.

* Please report of you find injured animals. Sheep and cows to local farmers, and Viltnemnda is responsible for wild animals like eagles, hares, moose etc. Ask locals to help you report 😊

Sheep and cows are marked with different coloured tags with codes, take photos for easier identification and note location either as a pin on the map, or gps coordinates.

* Stone piles (varder)
As an old tradition the piles are used to find the way in the mountains. New piles can make navigation dangerous in bad weather.

Please don't make new ones, or contribute to the misled piles at other locations.

For example at the rolling stone beach at Uværshula, people has turned the beautiful beach into a big pile of rocks -blocking the wiew and exposing the sharps stones underneath.

We are a 3 person (2 adults and a teenager) cat loving family with 3 beautiful cats, and a big lovely garden.

I have been out of Couchsurfing for many years, due to family 😊

We have, however, had many nice and interesting visitors anyway, ie hitch hikers and travelers sent from other friends, and also old travel friends revisiting 🙏🏼

I also had a Hospitality Club membership for many years, with many more visitors from all over the world. Unfortunately I have no idea how to access it now 🙈

I love to meet and get to know some of all the sweet, lovely and nice people worldwide. I also aim to let our 14 year old experience the same 😊

Big Island Hawaii; experienced 10 square meters of new land created a few meters from me. The ground lifted, and the lava was slowly pouring out.

Northern Norway; witnessing a glacier shed thousands of years of ice, in an approximately 50 m high wall of ice. (Unfortunately not so uncommon these days, with the climate change +but back then is was mind blowing)
