About Me

CURRENT MISSION

I am wrapping up my first year as a Jr. High Spanish teacher in Davis, CA and getting ready to move to Santa Cruz, CA after a trip to Europe this summer.

ABOUT ME

PHILOSOPHY

Life is short, eat dessert first. Which I do all the time. Mainly chocolate. Ice cream. But really all desserts. Except maybe pudding. Never been a huge fan of pudding, don't really know why.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I've realized that when I travel, it's way better to meet up with someone who actually knows the city or the place. Now I want to use couchsurfing to meet more locals. My dad still stays in touch with people he met traveling 30+ years ago, and that's great. I would love to have people that I meet while traveling to still be a part of my life year later. Even if we go a while without staying in touch or visiting. It's always nice to know we have friends around the world.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I stayed with a couple in Lyon and they were wonderful. They showed me all over the city, took me to meet their friends and see the markets, and we even met up with another group of couch surfers. I also stay with a wonderful guy in Madrid who was so welcoming accommodating and I had a great experience.

Interests

Travel, languages, reading, creative writing, theater dogs, (animals in general), trying as many different kinds of cheese as possible.

Feminism, and LGBTQ rights is a huge part of my life, and I try to learn as much of it as I can. Living in a foreign country makes it hard for me to feel like I can try to create the change I want, so I look for people that share these values.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

The Amazon rain forest! Spending the summers in British Columbia. I have also lived in Oaxaca, Mexico, Strasbourg, and Lille, France.
Portland, Oregon, and Ashland, Oregon are two other places I have called home.

Teach, Learn, Share

I can share my knowledge of languages and places I have traveled, I am always curious and enthusiastic. I like exploring, seeing new things, but also just hanging out at home with a glass of wine and some chocolate. I am a great listener so I'm ready to hear all stories you might want to share.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I can make you laugh. Guarantee it. Cook at meal and even do the dishes. Enthusiasm. It's contagious. I have lots of it.
