About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To give back to the CS community after being graciously hosted by many great people around the world. My first couchsurfing experience was way back in 2008! I finally have a situation where my girlfriend and I can host people and we're happy to share our space.

ABOUT ME

I love showing off my city to guests. Portland is a wonderful place with a lot to do. I hope you visit!

I've lived in Azerbaijan and South Korea, so I have some traveling experience. So does my girlfriend Stephanie, who lived in Spain for two years.

I'm just reviving my couchsurfing page after not using it since 2009! It's a blast from the past, including most of my pictures that are now 6 years old. Hard to believe how time flies...

PHILOSOPHY

Rakim once said: "It ain't where you're from, it's where you're at."

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Couchsurfing was a fantastic resource over the past couple years while I was abroad. I've surfed many places, and always had a lot of fun doing it. I'm eager to host folks that are traveling through!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I've only had one negative experience on CS. And that was because the guy was too nice and hosted me when he shouldn't have!

If you've couchsurfed, I'm sure you're on the same page. Looking forward to meeting some great folks along the way during my trip.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Volunteered for two years in Azerbaijan. I doubt I'll ever do anything like that again in my life. A difficult, but rewarding experience.

And of course hiking in North Korea.

Teach, Learn, Share

Why is CS being a free place to crash a bad thing? It's a fantastic way to let people who want to travel do so for longer periods of time in more places. Nothing bad about that at all. The fact that it's free makes it cool, the fact that you meet fantastic people and learn about new ideas and places makes every CS experience memorable and special.

What I Can Share with Hosts

Meals, drinks, a place to stay, and great things to see in and around Portland.

Countries I’ve Visited

Austria, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Cambodia, Croatia, Czech Republic, Georgia, Germany, Hungary, Mexico, North Korea, Poland, Romania, Serbia, Thailand, Turkey, Ukraine

Countries I’ve Lived In

Azerbaijan, South Korea, United States
