ABOUT ME

We are a fun-loving couple in our mid twenties from Texas in the USA. In June of 2014 we both quit our jobs to travel the world and document our adventures! We began by working on a horse ranch for 3 weeks in British Columbia, 8 hours north of Vancouver in a small town called Lac La Hache. We enjoyed that experience immensely and learned so much about ranch life in Canada. From there, we road-tripped across the US delivering a car from Seattle to Birmingham for an Alabama student. Along the way we stopped to see scenic waterfalls, zip-lined down a mountain in Utah, camped and white water rafted in Colorado, and experienced many amazing local food/brewery joints all while crashing with friends along the way.

Soon we will be heading to NYC for a couple days and then onward to Norway, Europe, and beyond! We are excited to learn from different people and cultures.

We love nature and being outside. Shelly despises bugs however so that makes things interesting. Jimmie is outgoing and very personable and loves getting to know people. Shelly is a bit more reserved compared to Jimmie, but enjoys the company of other people. We are both laid back, and would rather chill around the fire with a beer and glass of wine than go to a nightclub or wild party.

We are currently traveling and Couchsurfing has made our experiences all the better! We haven't hosted yet, but we would love to start once we settle down somewhere!

We have only had great Couchsurfing experiences! We love utilizing this platform to connect with locals all around the globe. It's amazing how kind and open people are to strangers, and we are eager to be able to experience that all across the world!

Interests

We enjoy reading, hiking, listening to and playing music, relaxing at the local pub or coffee shop, occasionally binging on Netflix tv series, paddle boarding, kayaking, and just being near water and mountains! We enjoy and appreciate both country and city life. We love experiencing and learning new things, photography, videography, and writing.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Jimmie hiked the Appalachian Trail, a 6 month long journey hiking 2160 miles from Georgia to Maine.

Shelly (along with Jimmie) conquered Norway's Trolltunga - ascending almost 1000m to a rock formation in the shape of a Troll's Tongue jutting out 700m above the lake below.
