About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To be awed and defeated by greater things

ABOUT ME

Living in Santiago, Chile for the foreseeable (aka as long as possible) future. Currently can't host but would love to meet up!

An Urban Planning graduate student who constantly hosts potlucks and is obsessed with transit. NUMTOT

I love the absurd, the gaudy, and the ostentatious.

I've noticed that CS has become the new Tinder so I'm gonna shut this one down quick. Only looking for friends, not into dating. Don't push it.

PHILOSOPHY

Seeking the overthrow of all barriers of forcible oppression

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I use couchsurfing more in search of awesome and eccentric tour guides who will show me the hidden gems of their respective cities than hosting per say.

Also, in terms of hosting, my goal is to provide surfers with a different experience in Santiago. It’s a great city, and sadly people see it only as a stopping point to Patagonia or Atacama. I hope to change that.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

My experience has been more with hosting than surfing, but so far I've loved it. I enjoy surfers who have an interest in going outside of the box when it comes to travel and destinations, and travelers who are independent and eccentric. Also fellow foodie travelers are great!

Interests

Currently speaking English and Spanish fluently while attempting to (re) learn Italian. Boy it's a doozy.

I work in International Education hoping to develop an innovative and culturally sensitive new generation ready to tackle global issues.

I'm an avid bike rider and beginner yogi (not at the same time.) I also volunteer in repairing bikes or bike troubleshooting as I call it. Gladly would love to help assemble your

I finishing up my Urban Planning masters, focusing my research on the experience of informal migrant workers and reappropriation of public spaces.

Karaoke fiend. I'll go to our local bar, Kajuns for drinks and karaoke until sunrise. The more absurd, the better.

Learning code but I may not have the patience for it.

Amateur carpenter and landscaper.

I make a mean butter chicken but I wish I could perfect the bao.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Hands down participating in education protests in Santiago, Chile. I was in Santiago as part of an immersion program and bonded immediately with my host family. During the time I was living in Santiago, education reform was (and still is) a hot button issue in the city. I spent a day traveling through the capital with my siblings, meeting wonderful revolutionaries along the way and getting a better grip of the city.
