À propos de moi

CURRENT MISSION

be happy and find out what is love ;)

ABOUT ME

I say, I hate talking or writing 'bout myself, but I'll try to do my best: I used to be a student at Warsaw University, I finsihed English philology and did study American Culture Studies. Now I work in a bank (yeah, completely not connecte,d but it's fun in a way :D). I am friendly, although the first impression could be quite different: cool-headed & sarcastic (there is some truth in this, but I am really a good guy- belive me, I know myself). Also I believe in old Polish tradition of hospitability :) I always try to learn something new from new friends, because life is a mystery and you need every kind of knwoledge you can accquire to solve it :)

PHILOSOPHY

i want to live my life as best as I can. As I like to say: I'll say that my life was good, when at my funeral would be at least one person who honestly say: "Gosh, he was a good chap. I'll miss him".

Lately I try to cherish my life and what I am experiencing right now. It doesn't matter if it sth good or bad, I am still thankfull to God that I could face them. They are test that we have to pass to enrich our lives and souls. That is what I believe in:)

And a nice cup of tea is helpful in many situations.

Pourquoi je suis sur Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I generally try to host people. I believe in a traditional hospitability that was so characteristic for Poland and Poles in the past. I rarely travel, but when I do I always try to meet new people (although I'm quite shy) and in exchange I try to tell them as much as I can about myself, my country etc= share a bit of my personality and my culture with them.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I suppose that I would lie If I call myself a begginer. I hosted few people, each time having a great fun and expending my tolerance, knowledge and in some way improving my life. Hopefully I would surf some day in the future:)

Centres d'intérêt

- books (so many of them - Terry Prachett right now is my fav, along with D. Brin, Scott Lynch, John Scalzi and David Weber - all are sci-fi or fantasy. I do read also other kinds of books :D I really like to read, thus there are many of good authors and not enough place for giving a credit to all of them

- travelling

- music (jazz, flamenco, generally every good kind of music, that I will find enjoyable - also old soldier songs from US or UK, 'cos they have this element of melancholy and sentiments)

- I am a Tea lover (i hope that it doesn't sound strange;d )
-I really admire Winston Churchill
-manga
-the culture of Japan and its history

Oh yeah, I used to be in a historical reenactment group. A great experience.

For now my greatest hobby is war-gaming. All those small miniatures of soldiers, painting them (I find it very relaxing, a kind of zen meditation, believe me or not) and playing. Second hobby is role-playing games - I have a fantastic group of friends with whom I could spent hours and hours of fun in some good game :D

Morceaux de musique, films et livres

Thera are many things:
- I love reading (one of my fav authors is Terry Pratchett)
- jazz (I am not a specialist, but I admire the classic jazz)
- movies: various (I prefer rather lighter movies like comedies or sci-fi, but I do not shrink from more serious films)

Une aventure extraordinaire que j'ai vécue

I suppose reeneacting. That's a great thing:D

And yes, wearing a true Scottish plaid-> my childhood dream. Boy, I was so happy when my friend from Scotland allowed me to wear it, that I was almost crying:D (not mentioning a cigar from Cuba and Scottish whisky)

Hitchhiking throughout Balkans

Enseignez, apprenez, partagez

I will share myself if it's possible, I will discuss about Poland, its culture, its history, because I am a patriot:) I can share my hobbies and my interests (there are so many of them that it is quite hard to list them here)

I want to learn about people I meet, about their lives, their countries, cultures.
