About Me
Hey all! Before you read below, I get inindated with requests, I get 10-20 a day and cannot keep up with all of the emails. We accept 1-2 requests per month. It's great to have such a great response but it's not something we can reasonably keep up. Please do not take it personal if I don't respond. Right now I'm accepting offers from April 15 onward.
I'm Darcy! I'm originally from San Francisco and moved to NYC 12 years ago to persue a career as a fashion stylist. I changed careers a couple years ago and am now finishing a Masters degree in Chinese Medicine. I live in Jersey City (Brooklyn got to expensive) with my husband of 10 years, Jim and our two cats.
I have my massage practice in Brooklyn. I work 3 days a week and the other days I am mostly studying but we have time to show folks around town!
I've been all over the world thanks to my previous job! UK, France, Italy, Morocco, Bahamas, Montreal, St. Barth's, Jamaica, St. Martin, Mexico, Panama, Peru, Brazil, Hawaii, to name some places. This year (2014) Jim and I have trips planned to Dubai + Abu Dhabi, France, Italy, and China!
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
It's great to meet new people while traveling and connect in ways you might not have a chance to at home. That's what I love most about travel. Jim and I are both getting older and don't travel and stay in hostels like we used to when we were 20 and it gives us to connect with others in a similar way, find new experiences in our own city, and hopefully find some places to stay when we travel!
We are busy adults but we most certainly can come on adventures when time permits and are always open to conversation with our crashers!
Interests
Our interests include music + film (Jim works in the film industry and does experimental music), DIY projects, making art, and foodie stuff.

Taking a great leap of faith changing career directions. Watching my heart grow and getting to connect with people every day at work. Traveling alone on a whim to far flung places.
