About Me

Howdy! I just got back in March 2023 after 9 months of backpacking South America and am potentially accepting guests (who read the profile). Last-minute requests are preferred since I travel often and am not always confident I'll be able to host for future dates. If you want to send a super generic "just looking for a place to crash" kinda message then expect me to forward you my Airbnb listing :P

All genders, ethnicities, orientations, religions, etc. are welcome. Above everything, I'm interested in authentic experiences. Time is a strange and precious thing and I feel I have less of it than usual these days so a personal request holds much more weight.

Me avisas si hablas español! Quiero practicar en cualquier oportunidad que encuentro :)

I am an open-minded, respectful, and conscious person passionate about travel, creating things, and opening myself to new experiences. I thrive on new experiences of all varieties and invariably come away with more context to further understand and appreciate what I have now. I'm passionate about sound, storytelling, deserts, stars, creating things, and making myself uncomfortable. I believe it has shaped me into a better human, making me hungry for experience and understanding. I love antiques which is obvious from my decor because I know each one has a unique, emotion-filled story behind it waiting to be known.

I have an eclectic style and dry sense of humor so I'll apologize upfront for the overuse of sarcasm which will undoubtedly make you begin to question reality. I regard myself as a perpetual learner and eternally curious. A topic I've been endlessly fascinated with for a few years is the concept of time. Time is such a mysterious, elusive, and subjective measure of our experience, and the more I've tried to understand or define it, the more fragile the definition becomes. Yet, it has brought me a strange and ironic solace in life and openness to the world.

I'm here to connect with people from around the world on a human level and build memories to last a lifetime.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

After a spontaneous one-way ticket manifested into a 3-month Eastern Europe backpacking trip in 2018, having met the most beautiful souls on this trip in such a short time, I would take a Couchsurfing opportunity over a nice hotel if it were offered to me for free.

Experiences are worth more than anything and are the composition of a long-lived life as we ultimately perceive it. Couchsurfing is so much more than a way to travel affordably--the people I've met and experiences I've had here could not be bought for any price. I love hearing stories from different cultures and the CS community is loaded with amazing stories from unique individuals. I'm truly thankful to the hosts and members I've met so far and am happy to be a full-circle piece of this ecosystem.

Music, Movies, and Books

Music is all over the place as it is with most people. Everything from Indy, Jazz, Heavy Metal, Classic Rock, Hip-Hop, Rap, Classical, Russian Alternative, Turkish Psych, etc. There's nearly nothing I can't appreciate.

A few go-to's:
David Bowie, Mac Demarco, Dax Riggs, Sonny Rollins, Thelonious Monk, Grimes, IC3PEAK, Sage Frances, Earthgang, and on and on...

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Amongst the most significant chapters of my life to date was the 3 months I spent backpacking in eastern Europe. From hitchhiking between countries, swimming in the icy Finnish sea, exploring abandoned buildings in Poland and Germany, visiting the ER in Romania, almost dying in the mountains of Western Ukraine, and all the highs and lows between, I wouldn't take back any moment.

*Update | Sep. 2019* After my first experience, I guess I've now fetishized this one-way ticket/no-plan travel style. I've just returned from a 4-month solo trip through South America.

*Update | 2023* Well shit. I keep doing this. Last trip was 9 months long and now I kinda speak Spanish!

Teach, Learn, Share

Language: I'm teaching myself Spanish currently but I would love to learn any language if you can teach me some basics.

I'm just a curious person by nature so anything you are passionate about would be exactly what I want to learn.

I can teach you/share my thoughts about business, marketing, memory, podcasts, time, things to do in my city, and a plethora of other things. I've got a cozy, clean, and safe space for you to crash.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I have a good understanding of the Couchsurfing ecosystem. If I stay with you, I'll happily surf in a manner that is not disruptive to your existing lifestyle. I'm very happy to engage with you in conversation or exploring your city but will have no expectations of you being a tour guide or holding my hand. As a host myself, I understand you may need or want your own space. I'll absolutely do my part to respect your space, clean after myself, and share what I have. Most importantly, I don't use this app to save money, I am here to gain and offer wholesome experiences.
