About Me

I am a small cat nut who has left her crazy home town of Teheran behind to explore the world. First stop is Germany, where I am currently trying to vanquish some evil Grammar monsters standing in the way between me and the doors of university. Next stop - who knows....

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

A good friend of mine introduced me to this great community and I immediately got hooked on the whole idea of Couchsurfing. Having the possibility to meet so many great people from all around the world, even if you are not traveling by yourself is just fantastic. I didn't have the chance to host/surf yet, but I can imagine that being able to hang out with locals in their favorite spots is just gold.

Music, Movies, and Books

My favorite series of all times is probably "Friends" - I must have watched it already hundereds of times. I also enjoy some American series, such us Buffy the Vampire slayer, that '70s show, Rick and Morty, Game of Thrones, Futurama, etc.

However my true love in series lies in British TV: Doctor Who, Sherlock (the new one), the IT crowd, and coupling are my favs.

As far as movies go, I really do enjoy watching all kinds of movies. One of the most recent ones that has impressed me was Tom Ford's (Yes, the fashion designer also is a fantastic director) "Nocturnal animals". When starting to learn German, I obviously have explored German cinema as well, with "goodbye Lenin", and "love in thoughts" probably having stricken me the most. Other then that, there is the classics, such us "the matrix", "the edge of tomorrow", "mr nobody", "inception", or "chocolat".

If there is one book author to name that has really moved me with his works, it would definitivly be Milan Kundera. Other books that I have really enjoyed reading were Heinrich Böll's "The Clown", and Orwell's "1984".

In terms of music, my interests are very broad. On the one side of the spectrum there is 30 seconds to mars and HIM, while on the other there is cradle of filth. I really enjoy the good old tracks from Nightwish and experiencing Tarja live on stage at the Woodstock festival was a dream come true.

Teach, Learn, Share

I can teach you a lot about my Persian culture: cooking traditional dishes, speaking some basic Farsi phrases, music, cinema, history, etc. Even though Iran is my origin, I am now trying to make a living in Germany. Hence, I can also tell you many stories about my expat adventures, as well as teach you some German.
