About Me

Creative and artistic, clumsy, funny, open-minded, tolerant, patient, nostalgic, dreamy. I believe strongly in being as kind as possible.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I have a couch max for two people available in the centre of Lisbon, near Rato.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I had some lovely people staying over in Lisbon and it was very nice.

Interests

Anything which involves arts (literature, music, painting...), old Italian movies from Visconti, food, food, food (cooking and eating... very keen on trying new things and constantly teaching myself new recipes), cats, travelling, boxing, wine, beer, laughter.

Music, Movies, and Books

Too much to mention, raving art lover. But my latest loves are: art-critic/poet/novelist John Berger, Dutch early 20th century writer Slauerhoff, Portuguese writers like Teixeira de Pascoaes. I listen to a lot of classical music these days, mostly Mahler (although I did also see Bruce Springsteen and BB King this summer, so anything goes) and am absolutely obsessed with the movie Shutter island and its brilliant accompanying soundtrack. Adored 'Le Notte bianchi' by Visconti. I love Spanish surrealist painters like Miro and late Romantic painters such as Friedrich.
Any music by Bonnie Prince Billy, Neil Young, Sun Kil Moon, Patty Griffin, Emmylou Harris, Iron & Wine, Van Morrison, old rock 'n roll and soul music.
Anything which transports me into another world.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Leaving friends and family to live in Portugal. Never thought I would do it but it gave my life a whole new and unexpected direction. It took guts to actually chase a dream. Very proud of that.

Teach, Learn, Share

Not a clue. I'm open to anything, but if there's somebody who's a genius chess-player, then I would be quite eager to learn that. Any Slavic language I'm also keen to explore.

Countries I’ve Visited

Austria, Czech Republic, France, Germany, Hungary, Italy, Philippines, Portugal, Slovenia, South Korea, Spain, United Kingdom

Countries I’ve Lived In

Belgium, Germany, Portugal
