About Me

Hello there!

Couchsurfing is asking me who I am. Uh, let's give it a try.

So… who am I? What I love, what I like, what pisses me off, what I don't care for—OK. But *who I am*? Many great thinkers have tried tackling this question. For centuries. Have they reached a consensus? Nope. So, I don't know either. I'm still trying to find that out, though, who I am.

I've tried describing myself with adjectives. Alas, cognitive bias will always play a part.
People have also tried that. People who love me, people who like me, and people who don't like me that much. Same pitfall, same story.

But if it helps, to start with: I'm a long-haired, full-bearded guy hailing from the Patagonian Desert that wears thick-framed glasses, hopelessly curious about the Universe and mankind as a whole. I love banter. I love debates. I love deep shit. I can be dead serious. I can make you die from laughter. I can get lost in meaningful conversation. I can bathe in childlike joy. You know that feeling when getting to know somebody, their company gets you going, even if you traveled long hours and slept short ones? That's what awesome people do to me. And I love it.

The rest you'll have to find out.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I love (meeting) people, languages, cultures and travelling with a passion. There.

Also, more info on "My Interests".

Interests

Literally and unironically everything. Mostly music, literature, cinema, languages, culture, geopolitics, philosophy, computing, economics, etc. Also cooking. I've set out to learn calculus and physics, as well. Know a good deal about sports, even if I'm not the sporty type. So everything, really.

Music, Movies, and Books

Music: Lots of stuff. The Mars Volta is my favorite band. Björk, my favorite singer. MF DOOM, my favorite rapper. I grew up with classical music, so I love that shit too. Nowadays I'm going through the essential /mu/ core list. I also watch The Needle Drop regularly. I like to explore stuff on my own, though. And feel free to plug me into ya thang.

Movies: The Silence, The Seventh Seal, LOTR, Hard Candy, 3-Iron (빈집), Little Miss Sunshine, The Hateful Eight, The Big Lebowski, Groundhog Day, The Lives of Others, The Sea Inside, Wild Tales, The Secret In Their Eyes, Scarface, Captain Fantastic, Apocalypse Now, The Holy Mountain, Sidewalls, The Man Without A Past, The Umbrellas of Cherbourg, 8½, The Shawshank Redemption, Full Metal Jacket, Amadeus, 12 Angry Men

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Learning German. I firmly believe that if you've mastered something painstakingly hard like Goethe's tongue you can really do anything in life.

Teach, Learn, Share

Languages. Languages. Languages. I seem to love them so much I have already decided on my first ten.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I LOVE COOKING. Seriously. Oh boy are you in for a treat. I love cooking from the heart.

Countries I’ve Visited

Albania, Argentina, Austria, Czech Republic, France, Germany, Hungary, Italy, Poland, Sweden, Vatican City State
