About Me
Hi all!
I'm Nova (though you'll see I used to go by another name in my references.)
I am deeply interested in ways that we can make our social environments more communal and healthfully interdependent, and ways that we can make our relationships to our natural environments more integrated, healthy and connected. (Cooperative lifestyle! Low waste!)
Couchsurfing over Air Bnb any day!
I'm passionate about advocating for young children, and supporting them in their socio-emotional development as they mature into emotionally competent, healthy, social justice-minded adults.
I have been fortunate enough in life to have had opportunities to travel overseas, and I would like to experience many other places, cultures, and people as well, but for now I am a graduate student with financially limited means, and I am also feeling very invested in finding thriving community here in the states.
I like dancing, I like drum circles and jam sessions, I like open communication, and I like genuineness in the people I connect with.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
My reasons for being on couchsurfing connect back to my reasons for living in intentional community. To make the world a better, more interconnected, more trusting, more open place for all of us humans and other creatures.

I absolutely LOVE frogs, turtles, snakes, and other amphibians and reptiles.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
In the past: I collaborated with children aged 10-13 to build a sailboat/raft for 17 pre-teens and 3 adults, and we sailed it in a harbor on the Pacific. We did this in one week, and then dismantled the entire project piece by piece for the next group of children to re-use our materials.
In the future: I'm going to go on a 4-day peace walk to end nuclear warfare, in August. I hope to join the same Buddhist Peace Pagoda community on a much longer walk one day.
