About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To promote the Open Source philosophy- Knowledge moving freely!

ABOUT ME

Among my greatest passions in life are meeting new people and making friends out of strangers. I especially love listening to all kinds of music and enjoy the way it can tear down barriers and "talk" to people regardless of origin or upbringing.

Apart from earning my living as a science writer, I spend a lot of time on trying to start up a Citizen Science Center in Copenhagen together with a small, devoted group of people. It will be a fusion of a makerspace, a prototype lab and an open science lab, where everybody can try out their ideas and get their fingers in the science soup! In short: democratization of science and technology! I believe this is going to be huge in the future, and I could go on about it for hours, but only if you ask me to. (-:

Apart from being very interested in the natural sciences (& swimming, climbing, running, trekking, diving, hearing, tasting, smelling, seeing & feeling nature), I am also a big fan of playing around with words.. Improvisational theatre, poetry and song-writing is among the disciplines I meddle with in this regard. To practice the latter I've taught myself some guitar, which has proven extremely useful on a number of occasions.

I try to follow the technological developments and the political decision making concerning climate change and environment, because I think the shift towards a sustainable way of living should be the single biggest priority of humanity today. I have vented this climate-interest in various contexts (youth events and organisations).

Oh, one more thing: I recently started dancing: swing and a bit of argentinian tango - both are highly recommendable!

PHILOSOPHY

"He not busy being born is busy dying" - there's always something (or someone) new to discover, so keep at it!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I will try to encounter all CS'ers with all the trust and openness that I could ever imagine receiving. And do what I can so that everybody is having a good time!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I have couchsurfed in Lausanne and Linz, to great succes. Also, I have met up and made friends with CS'ers on my travels in the Balkans and in Ireland.

Interests

Let's be frank:
Stuff I actually do on a regular basis: play guitar & piano, improv acting, play football (i.e. the european kind!), arrange a music festival.

Stuff I would wish I had more time (and money) to do: play bass, scuba dive, ski, rock climb, play basketball, dance swing, and engage in most outdoor activities.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

The untainted starry night sky seen from the slopes of Kilima Njaro (It means "The difficult mountain" in Kiswahili). Billions of stars - in numbers never visible from the city-strewn northern hemisphere - and the clear white ribbon of our dear home galaxy that we tend to call the Milky Way. That sight makes you feel small in a very comfortable and peaceful way.

Teach, Learn, Share

I can teach you some exercises in improvisational theatre - it's fun and very useful in a lot of situations in life! I can also teach you how to know a little about many things.

Right now I would like to improve my English journalistic skills, my spoken Polish and my swing dancing capabilities.. hmm. How to go about that?
