About Me

CURRENT MISSION

No mission, just trying to make the most of every single little thing.

ABOUT ME

I'm doing a PhD in Political Science, but I spend more time working in something else and travelling. I've had all my dream jobs, and for some reason didn't find them fulfilling. So i go around, exploring and learning.

I have lived in Kuala Lumpur in 2016/17, where I taught at a local university. I before that worked in a Karen refugee camp, in the Thai/Burma border, which was, to say the least, challenging. I in between lived in Lebanon.

I've lived in East Timor for 11 months, before that, and I'm currently trying to learn as much as I can, to make the most out of everything, to travel as much as I can, to take life day by day.

When in Portugal, I stay with my mother, so take that into account if you're requesting to be hosted. :)

PHILOSOPHY

No worries. Life is already too complex for us to waste time worrying about small things.

Contrary to what you may think, though, I'm not a hippie - that means I don't drink, smoke, or do any kind of drugs. I don't even swear. I am also not a vegetarian.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING.

I was a very active member in Hospitality Club, but haven't registered in CS until much later. I have hosted over 30 people in Lisbon, through HC, and will happily continue that trend once I settle down somewhere again, which is not always easy, given my semi-nomadic life.

I always try to give my guests the best possible experience, showing them what Portuguese culture is all about, what our food is like, what our people are like. And that's the whole beauty of communities like this.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I haven't used couchsurfing that much, but I've been a member of hospitalityclub for over 6 years, and met dozens of people through it - my username there is also nunodc. You can check my references here: http://secure.hospitalityclub.org/hc/comments.php?cid=239463

With CS, I host people whenever possible, and I also try to get to know new people if I can't host/be hosted. Learning together, and from each other, is a beautiful experience. So if you're looking for a place to sleep, only, then i feel using CS makes very little sense.

I'm still too lazy to complete the list of countries where I've lived/visited. Bah.
