About Me

I am an easy going, open minded and adventurous Indonesian-Texan with a passion for rock climbing, writing, photography, good books and good jokes. I love the outdoors and learning new cultures. I work half of the year riding a bicycle taxi and guiding rock climbing trips in Austin, Texas, and spend the other half of the year traveling, usually climbing, and also working as an environmental journalist for the online magazine www.earther.com. As a guest I am clean, respectable and open minded (just as long as no one is harming anyone else).

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I love meeting new people, learning about new cultures and sharing my culture with locals, like tacos and Texas slang. I generally try to avoid the usual tourist traps and seek out unique experiences and I believe connecting with the local couch surfers is the best way to do that. To be honest, I have been on couch surfing since 2009 but have not been active at all, but I have had many great couch surfing experiences with my girlfriend who is an active couch surfer.
