ABOUT ME
We are a couple that loves travelling and meeting new people. Between us we have travelled to around 60 counties, lived in 7, and speak 8 languages. As a Swede and an Israeli, we come from very different cultures so that makes for a pretty interesting life (and dinner conversation)! We met while living and working in Switzerland, and now we live in Sweden together.
As travellers we are very curious, love to get a feel of the local culture, and you can expect us to be quite independent and respectful. As hosts we love to share our best tips with our surfers, but we will not always have time to show you around. We hope you are ok with that.
PHILOSOPHY
We try to increase happiness in whatever we do: our own, our friends', family's and whoever we meet.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
So far we have hosted a couple of times and it was great. We hope to surf as well starting this fall.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
What we like most about couchsufing is the the opportunity to be surprised and learn something cool about the world. Lately we had the pleasure to learn from our guests about the sub-culture around following bands on tour, and the recent health care reforms in America. Fascinating!
Interests
We have some common hobbies, like travelling, hiking, biking, nature and outdoors, and some individual ones. Philip likes golf, baking bread and reading the Economist while drinking strong coffee in the morning.
Nurit likes running (ran the Geneva Half Marathon in 2011), music festivals, learning languages and chocolate.

Music, Movies, and Books
Nurit: music - rock & indie like Arcade Fire, Frightened Rabiit, Death Cab for Cutie, Arctic Monkeys, Florence and The Machine, The XX. Books - my favorite is probably Anne of Green Gables / L.M Montgomery, or The Neverending Story / M. Anda. I also like the writing of Paul Auster (The New York Trilogy) and Brett Easton Ellis (American Psycho).
Philip's music taste got stuck in the 90s metal scene so he won't write any bands here. Books: Steinbeck, and fantasy writers like Robert Jordan.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Nurit spent a year backpacking in South America, including one night spent in the jungles in Bolivia getting sheltered by a local farmer who only spoke Kechua.
Philip has had coffee by the shore of an uninhabited island outside Stockholm, and he returns for a week every year :)
