About Me

Hi! I am originally from Malaysia but I was born in Tokyo and did most of my schooling in Singapore (former diplobrat, so I've been a big city girl for most of my life.) I just graduated from the University of British Columbia with a degree in history. :)

I moved to Vancouver in 2014 pursue my undergraduate degree and have lived in Canada ever since. I really love to connect with individuals who also grew up internationally or young professionals who travel/move around a lot for work. But I'm generally open to meet anyone cool and interesting!

I really love discovering the best cafes/restaurants in the city so HMU if you want to get caffeinated or just want to feel some urban vibes.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I've done some travelling on my own since my time in university but I feel like I wasn't doing it "right" (i.e. I didn't make the most of my time, I didn't meet anyone new/interesting, I didn't experience anything unique.) I thought that joining CS will be a good way to meet people who I normally would not have the opportunity to do so and experience something totally out of the ordinary!

Consequently, when I am back at my base in Vancouver, I found it really hard to balance school/work with my travel plans. So I thought I could return the favour and host/meet/show around travellers who are in Vancouver and feel the excitement of travelling without actually having to travel!

Teach, Learn, Share

I went to 6 different schools growing up, survived 5 different education systems and had lived in 4 different countries by the time I'm 20. I've gotten use to having to adapt to new places/environment quickly over and over again. I guess I can share some tips on dealing with homesickness and going through life at a crazy rapid pace :)

If you're looking for something light - I can definitely recommend my favourite cafes in the places I've visited!
