About Me
Hi there! I am a native to the Bay Area (born, raised, went to undergrad) and spent this past decade as a New Yorker (totaling 4 degrees! It’s overkill really). I am an ambivert and love a good mix of going out and staying in, spending time with good company over good food, backpacking abroad, exploring and trying new things!
Fun facts:
- My dad was a farmer during the Cultural Revolution prior to becoming one of the first university graduates, making him a local celebrity in his village.
- In the spirit of trying new things, I decided that if I was ever going to dye my hair, I had to go big (and do it while I was still in school). So I became a hair model and dyed it midnight blue with jade green. It faded into a nice turquoise :)
- I once tried to listen in on an ethereal choir rehearsal. Ended up befriending a middle aged Hispanic lady security guard, who took me as her plus one to Carnegie Hall and Lincoln Center.
- I am a fan of exotic fruits, currently in love with jackfruit. I discovered you can buy frozen dragonfruit at Target (it’s the pink bag next to the frozen blueberries, which are also delish!)
I consider my nursing profession a calling. I believe we each have a story to tell, with the greatest growth coming from a place of change. Those experiences help us to have more compassion for others, and when shared they provide wisdom and human connection.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I had heard amazing things about Couchsurfing from a childhood friend who traveled everywhere urbanexing during her Stanford years. And the depth of trust and human connection from my very first Couchsurfing experience continues to inspire my admiration for this unique community.

Teach, Learn, Share
There's the Golden Rule: Treat others as you would like to be treated.
Then there's the Platinum Rule: Treat others as they would like to be treated.
What I Can Share with Hosts
I am very clean and organized, so very low maintenance on your part haha. Usually out the full day while traveling. I will be happy to help you tidy up the place or be an assistant cook if you'd like!
I have been told that I have a soothing voice. So if you have children, I can read a bedtime story :)
And I can always offer warm conversations and perspectives. I also enjoy engaging in meaningful worldview discussions ever since I became Christian in my freshman year at Cal (if you'd like to ask me something about my journey I will try my best to answer!)
