About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To travel, to experience as many other cultures as much as I can, and most of all to learn Spanish!

ABOUT ME

Hi!
My name is Nina and I am a 26-year-old Aussie girl.
I have just finished studying and am spending some time in Europe before heading to South America for the first time to improve my Spanish, explore and do some volunteering.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I love to travel, am easy-going and would love to get an insider's perspective on the places I go. I am happy to buy food for wherever I stay for the people hosting as well (and to cook), and have hosted travellers I have met in the past, but not officially through couchsurfing.
I have never done this before and would appreciate any advice!

Interests

Travel, and continuing to do so for as long as I possibly can. Photography. Human rights. Cheese. Cooking (especially baking). Also cheese.

Music, Movies, and Books

My music taste ranged from pretty much everything excluding classical and heavy metal. I do enjoy a good boggie to some 90s jams and silly pop that I don't normally listen to, because it's more fun that way :)

I love reading fantasy books so my favorites are generally fantasy series', but I also like getting to know the classics and reading the old fairy tales. I love horror as well, I read a lot of Stephen King and those types of books.

Favourite movies are Empire Records, Moulin Rouge, The Nightmare Before Christmas.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Living and swimming with turtles in Redang Island, Malaysia. I volunteered for a turtle conservation group and we got to monitor the turtle nests, which meant staying up at night and waiting for the turtles to trudge up the beach and dig their nests in the sand. Watching turtles squidge their eggs out of their tails is both awesome and weird, and helping keep their babies safe and watching them flee with all their might towards the ocean when they were hatched was incredible.

Teach, Learn, Share

Erm...not sure what this means...I have done all of those things as a teacher and a student. I loved teaching kids in Spain and watching how their English improved. I love learning, especially at uni about human rights. I do share, just not when there is limited cheese :P

What I Can Share with Hosts

Fun! Boogie times! Brownies that I shall bake!
