ABOUT ME

I'm a curious, inquisitive and creative writer. I'm a student but I love to read and write short stories and struggle through my novel. It's about homosexuality in colonial Sri Lanka. Love live music and walking, panoramic views, ancient buildings, understanding the history of any place, finding secret corridors and buildings, the taste of a city, rum and wine and gin and parties to be remembered.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I had some great experiences couchsurfing in Puerto Rico: beach parties, delicious breakfasts, road trips, walks through old San Juan, heart to hearts till sunrise by the sea.

I love writing and reading and exploring. I'm quite political and obsessed with Indian politics, culture and society.

Music, Movies, and Books

80s music and music festivals. My favourite bands are unoriginally, The Smiths and Radiohead, but to be honest I love being introduced to different styles and makers of music from all over the world!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Working in a Himalayan community for a couple of months in 2012 changed my life. The school I was working in was situated in disputed territory, between India and China, and was a three day drive from the nearest road. The privilege of being somewhere so remote, where we all had to rely upon and trust one another in order to sustain the community and survive, amongst such a scenic panorama, is something I will never forget. It completely inspired me to read and learn more about India, and led me to write my undergrad dissertation on it and study it at a postgraduate level. I really hope to go back at some point...an awe inspiring country.
