ABOUT ME
I've just moved at the beginning of August in Stockholm for a few months - I'm a visiting researcher at the uni of Stockholm. Usually, I live in London, where I'm doing my phd degree.
To all potential hosts, I am an outgoing person, who loves to have fun! I am clean, tidy and responsible (I swear I am!). I'm an italian student in England and amazingly I don't moan about food not being good (well sometimes I do, but not too much!).
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
Unfortunately, I had a slow start with CS. I was introduced to it by my sister and met thanks to her I met a few couchsurfers; seemed like an amazing project so got subscribed to it, but when I moved to England for studying I was a bit taken by all my studying and was always moving so I didn't think about CS much (I also admit didn't know where to start). Though, I met some great people in the couchsurfing community in Birmingham. One day would be lovely to host people. Hopefully in the future I'll have space...and some trusting housemates.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
As said above was introduced to CS by my sister. Her enthusiasm about it really convinced me I should get into CS as well. I only became an actual active member once I moved to England where I met other CSers in the Birmingham community. My first experience travelling was when I went to Copenhagen where I was hosted on a boat!! Would love to host but in the past I either lived in tiny students houses or with non approving house mates or in Stevenage, where not surprisingly I never received requests... hihi just kidding! :P
Interests
I like going out to meet new people, especially enjoy a drink with a friendly company. I also like to see the culture of new places, so a I don't mind doing a bit of naive touristic activity... though I mostly enjoy seeing the peculiarities and have a feel of the people and of the atmosphere of new places, when traveling.

Music, Movies, and Books
Don't you find that as soon somebody asks you what music you listen to/genre of books you read/movies you like to watch your mind just goes blank and you don't remember? well that is what happens to me!!
...but as a solution I'll add here new films, music and books I can think of whenever I update the profile
Films: Little big man, I cento passi, Milk, Strawberry Statement, Land and Freedom (but pretty much any film by Ken Loach!)... ok I love committed, somewhat political films, but I'm not boring! Let me think of a few others: Control (I also adore Joy Division's music), 24 hour party people, Donnie Darko, the Departed, Play it again Sam, Trainspotting, La Haine and many more...
Music depends on the period: sometime I just can listen to 60's and 70's rock(janis joplin, jimi Hendrix, Pink Floyd...) and love punk and hardcore music like sex pistols, Clash, Dead kennedys, Bad religion; other times I go the opposite way and only listen to electronic and dance music like Paul Kalkbrenner (the film Berlin calling is great!), major lazer, pendulum and Drum and bass in general.... but also ska (SKA-P best concert ever!) and many other things!...Also got into a lot of french dance music after being to a festival in france: C2C, Chinese man and Justice are amazing!
Books which I loved are Bad Science by Ben Goldacre which I suggest to everybody (I'm a bit of a nerd!); anything by Jonathan Coe, Jacopo Ortis, Someone to Run With, uno nessuno centomila, 1984, Fahrenheit 451, Zen and the Art of Motorcycle Maintenance, Io non ho paura, Fight Club, The dark tower series and others I cannot think of now
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I like to think that the most amazing things I'll see or do in my life are lying ahead in my future!
...I know it's just a way to get out of the question because I cannot think anything really amazing I've seen/done
Teach, Learn, Share
I could teach you .. mmhhh... a bit of statistics? do you want to learn about p-values and data analysis? I can play the guitar...sort of...always wanted to become a guitarist when I was a teenager but I was not gifted with a musical ear, at all! So I decided to go into academia!!
I could teach how to cook some great, classic Italian dishes! I always enjoy to cook for others!
What I Can Share with Hosts
I'm really friendly and talkative so (I like to think) I'm good company! I'd definitely be happy to cook for and/or with others. Cooking is always a great gateway for learning about others' culture.
