About Me
CURRENT MISSION
Current Current mission: find some organic rainwater to purify my wholly unorganic lifestyle! My mane is out of control.
ABOUT ME
I look to my left, there's a green dia de los muertos skull speckled with target-pox and topped with a wedge of lime and a pot of sugar, precariously unbalanced on the edge of two photo albums. Next to my bed are piled a Open Secrets by Alice Munro, A Flannery O' Conor collection, Yukio Mishima's Confessions of a Mask, Edward Said's Orientalism, Foucault's Madness and Civilization (current reading rate: a chapter a year), Isherwood's Berlin Stories, and one of the Sandman chronicles. This doesn't mean I read these, it doesn't mean I like them. They're just by my bed and that's where they are.
But for a more concrete description, I'm experiencing the post-undergrad pre-grad malaise, not sure where I'm headed, or where I want to be headed, but determined to head somewhere. I'm a cooker, though not always a good one, a vegetarian, a quarter Japanese, a total nerd for academia, unpretentious, VERY flexible regarding my living situations, uh,,,uh,,,,and sometimes kind of crazy. In a genuinely crazy way. A twin, did I mention I'm a twin? A scarlet-collared son of a blue-collared family (I'm living in a loft in a warehouse stacked with lumber built by my carpenter dad). I've shingled a roof before and, you know what, I'm trying to be proud of that.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
Well, I guess being here is participating. I've hosted and slept on other peoples' couches, settees, floors, lofts, in their closets.....uh...and have found it to be more than enjoyable, of course a little greasy, but you wake up the next day and realize you're in a dang good place. Since graduating college last June, I've been more or less transient as much as possible and, thanks to the kindness of others, have been lucky enough to meet some great people and reinforce old bonds. I'm inviting anyone and everyone to my place in Berlin this summer, in hopes of returning some of that karmic debt I've accumulated. When I do decide to resettle and go to grad school and get gay-married etc etc I will host host host and live vicariously through the hijinx of my hostees.
