About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To provide a place to stay and learn English in the country

ABOUT ME

I love owning my own land and living in the quiet of nature, with the wolves and white tail deer. Also I like to go to town, cities have much to offer, but its so nice to return back to the quiet of the country to see the sunset. I use to live in a big city, but I didn't like all the fast paces "hyipe" and the "big city attitude". Out here, we all trade and spend much less money! The people are Real and we help each other. All wealth comes from the land - farming or mining - thats the start of the food chain, and I like to be close to the beginning of this. I still have the modern things that they have in the city, just out here instead! :-)

PHILOSOPHY

Biblical - not religious

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

My place is open to people for a quiet get-a-way.
I have all the camping stuff, even basic foods, also the couch is available, even the guest room! Out here in the country is where I live! Country living is not expensive and is very quiet. This would be a great place to learn English, I'd like to learn German and Czech. I've been told that I'm a good English teacher and that I can explain things well over the internet when chatting over the internet in other countries, with other people learning English.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

None - yet! But soon, when I find others to run the place here - - I love to travel!! But I want to stay long enough the learn the language!

Interests

Computers - country living - house building - horses - politics - Constitution - Bible - classic cars - radio - movies - good fire wood - my solar panels and other green stuff - making cash.

Music, Movies, and Books

Butterflys are Free is a great movie to see. I listen to some old rock and roll - some real coutry, and I love old coutry/rock music, this was new when I was younger, and became a part of me. I liked the music in Ukraine, and bought some of it home. Gospel Bluegrass is my favorite, but I can listen to most anything. "He's an old hippie and he don't know what to do..." "should he hang on to the old - or grab on to the new..."

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Traveled to Kiev, then on to Chernivtsi, three times! Once was not enough! If I had someone reliable to watch the house, then I'd teach English in China. What an adventure that would be!

Teach, Learn, Share

Ich kann ein bischen Deutsch sprechen, und mein sohn auch. I home schooled my son, and I'm glad that I did, but it sure took a lot of time and energy! Also built my own house -debt free - on land that I paid cash for - it that still OK? Am I a pioneer type? Or just a survivor type?

PS: I accually bought it from a Native American! Really - I did it Right! Fair and square.
